Playing online poker at Cake requires installation of the Cake Poker download on a Windows operating system. Mac users running a Windows operating system with Parallels, Boot Camp, or a similar application may also be able to utilize the Cake Poker download without issue, however, Cake does not provide support for Mac users if any problems do arise. The Cake Poker download installation process is quick and painless on a broadband connection, and takes just a little bit longer on dial-up. The full installation will require about 40 MB of free space on the hard drive.

Start by clicking the Cake Poker download link to save the setup file to the computer. Choose a directory in which save the Cake Poker download that will be easy to find, such as the desktop or a default downloads folder. The Cake Poker download only takes a moment to download with a DSL or cable internet connection. Upon completion of the download, double-click FullcakeSetup.[version].exe to begin installing the Cake Poker software.

The Express Install is recommended, and takes only a few seconds to finish. The Cake Poker download's Express Install will generate an icon for the desktop, quick launch and the start menu under All Programs, as well as place a link to Cake Poker in a browser, and install the Cake Poker client to C:\Program Files\Cake Poker. To disable any of the icons/shortcuts or change the installation directory, choose Custom Install.


Once the installation of the Cake Poker download is complete, the user may access all of the online poker tables on the Revolution Gaming network through the Cake Poker software. The Cake online poker room can be opened from the desktop icon, or the through the start menu's quick launch or programs list. While a player account is required in order to participate in the online poker games, one can observe the Cake Poker tables without logging in.

Registration of a Cake Poker account can be accomplished by clicking on Login, then the Sign Up Now link at the bottom of the log-in dialog window. After filling out the necessary information, the user account will be created, and it will then be possible to log into the Cake Poker client with the user name and password supplied in the account registration. Now the player will be able to join the play money tables on the Revolution Gaming Network, or make a deposit into their account using one of the various online deposit options available in order to participate in real money online poker games.

New players at Cake Poker may wish to visit the Options section in order to set their table preferences, avatar, default seating, deck options, and more. To find an online poker game, select Ring Games or Tournaments, then narrow the options further by choosing a poker form and limit structure. Tournaments can also be filtered by tournament type (satellites, freerolls, sit and gos, etc.). Additional filtering options are available at the bottom of the window.
