Your on the bubble with AK suited you got enough to fold and make $, do you fold and make money or go all in and try stilling bling and risking being bubble boy. I did and ran into qq and lost a $11 satelite ticket oh well.

I have been in this exact position and folded AA. Alot of people have a theory about how to play. Many will say play to win. Well to me this is fine but not my style. I play to profit and worry about winning the tourny when it is feasible. In your case because of this i would have folded

That is unfortunate. I will wait for the ITM a lot of times. I recall a month or so ago being berated for playing slow to get in the money in the Bovada $8k guaranteed ($11) one Sunday. "Thats not the way to play to win". "You will never be a winning player playing that way". Yeah I don't know how to play, you guys have me pegged.

Having said that, sometimes I will shove myself in the same situation you described

Well its up to you really, are you just trying to get into the money, or are you trying to win the tournament, i personally would not open fold AK suited, if it was on the bubble however, i would play it under caution, i wolx attempt to take control but passive at the same timeHope that helps, sux that you lost, but hey thats poker baby.

Very nice finish, playing slow, or fast, has both profitable arguments. If you know what your doing (which you obviously do) you will get it in good, sometimes patience is a virtue and also it can cause noobs to go on tilt, prolyl because of adhd or something. Anyways jsut wanted to say nice 1k finish lkport :)

Your saying this was for a satelite ticket? Did all ITM get the $11 satelite or were their higher $satelite tickets to be won the closer you got to the final table??

If all ITM got the same satelite prize...then its an easy fold...and collect ur ticket...Id fold AA if I had a stack that would surely get the ticket....but if their was more to be won...well then you have to weigh ur options...if there is say 50 left and the top 10-45 get $11 ticket and 1-9 get a $33 ticket....when then id probably fold....etc

For me this is a easy push all day i can care less about getting itm for a minium cash.. rather have a healthy stack, and get my money in with the best hand than worry about sneaking into the money

In your case, where you playing for satellite tickets that are same no matter what position you finish i would fold and not care to try my luck.. if it was a tournament where a better finish = more $ i would defo push or at least consider trying to take a look at flop.

I know players who quietly take off AA on the bubble and in fact you just have to decide for yourself you play the final table, or that would go to the ITM, and if the game is decided in the final what difference does it bubble or the beginning of the tournament

I'd prob shove if it was me.

If I had QQ and I would ask all to see flop before I give, I take risks, but if the flop would get an A or K and I would ask all to raise or all in, run away, because I think they have something better than me, I would not risk

He said it was a satelite...if all prizes are the same...there is no min cash...and who cares about the Final Table?

I would not be stopped, I went to all in anyway mean that the lost ticket, how to fold, so if you win or lose all the time, was a very good hand, I let luck decide for me

9 of 10 people will fold with that hand, just let it go sometimes.. better than to be the bubble.

The poker may not be mathematics because of this purely
sometimes the flop badder sheets win
the fortune decides many times and no reason

I would have shoved it, the bubble makes it a tough spot but I try to play to win not to make the bubble That's unfortunate you ran into QQ but you still could have doubled there.

It really depends on how hungry you are to win money. If you have a good bankroll I would push with the AK but if you need the money I would just sit out and make the money. Or if you plan on trying get farther in the tournament then I would push with AK and try to build a chip stack quick to go farther in the tournament and hopefully make the final table.

Assuming that ITM would receive a $11 coupon, then I would fold if I was "damn certain" I will finish ITM. Like others have stated above, I would and have folded AA in the scenario plenty of times... That is, if all that ITM get the same value sat. coupon.

i am very surprisd by this to actually have courage to say no to AA when its there in front of you on computer screen you press fold button how many would do this i dont think too many maybe in v.big stake tourney it is being done but not from me. i have never not gone allin or raised and played on AA dont think i would ever fold it honestly but if i am in bubble position in big tourney and by go allin could lose it does make sense to win little profit than waste of time and no win i will try this maybe i am really not sure AA is too difficult fold for me but i know it could b better thing to do.

I would fold it all day long. I like to be paid for my time. If you go in and lose this hand you get nothing. if you fold, it puts you ITM with $11, and still a shot at first place.
You have not lost the chance to win first place by folding this hand.

There are 2 scenarios that I could play this hand, instead of folding.
One being if this tourney is offered frequently, and I have moneyed it frequently in the past. Since you can win more $$$ in the future, it would not hurt here whether you win or lose.
The other time I might go in , is if I was already up in money winnings playing that day. In this situation, I would feel it was like playing with casino money. I am known to play wilder with casino money than my own money. So if I was ahead in poker that day, I could gamble in this position for an even better day of poker winnings.

If 1st to ?<bubble is all the same value (you mentioned a satty ticket), easy fold. If not, if I have a very healthy stack, I'll play a 2x or 3x bb bet, depending on position. The last thing you want is to bubble, if s1 comes back over the top.... pretty easy fold.
