This is what I would do as a few friends have staked me in the past...if I don`t make the money they lose their stake. If I do make the money I will give them back their stake plus a 70% (me) 30% (them) percentage of the winnings...I`m curious as to what the real pros do for their backers?!

Something along the lines of that. I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that pbackers that pay, say 10% of the buyin will only win 8% of the winnings, so the pros are still making money while selling pieces of themselves as well

80:20 for the backer is normal in high buy in events. On some staking sites you see for online mtt´s 60/40 or 65/35. Some times with Make up.

I usually get backed for 50/50 with makeup or 60/40 their favor without makeup. the most i seen is a 70/30 split in the backers favor

When i was backing i made it 50/50 no make up ,but i am wondering how the pros back, and what% gos where and if there is back and see if bubble insurence plays a factor in the % of the player and the backer .It is a must i heard if u play volume of high limits of MTTs ,and allso gives u room to stack up before the money bubble no worries there u buy in comes back less 15% buy ,but not shure on that % so check into it if u play higher limt MTTs.#MTTs AND CASH MICRO PLAYER WE WANT A MILLION!

Should get backer not more than the player if the staker pay the whole buyin? mean sure, player use his time and get paid with buyin. if player dont win, the staker is the looser and have more to risk, than the player that only loose time.

Ok thats a good general idea what excatly is a make up, your next win pays for the last stakes? I like the 60/40 and ya the backer takes more risk should get more. I see no sence in stake 1 for a double or nothing sitngo lol

From what i ever have done with staking is very simple...both partys agree on what buyin games the person playing is goin to play...then i would sit back and put the initial buyin back to the backer and the stakeback....9/10 times you see people finishing good and then say well dont worry about the stakeback b.c u made good...i think it shold be the other way around....if you cash for a good amount you get half or lil more plus stakeback....if you dont cash well i would just take a % of the amount of money won...the whole point of a stake is to let the player make you money as you making them some extra cash aswell.

I would have hard time playing my best if im playing with other peoples money. ive never been staked but have staked a few at a 50 50 split. ive never won enough to be up in the whole scheme of things but always thought of it as a gift rather than an investment. just doesnt seem like a serious way to make cash at the stakes i play

It really depends on who is staking you and the cost of the tournament that the person is staking you. I usually stick to 60/40. 60 oing to the player and 40 going to the staker.
You just have to come to some kind of agreement before the tournament starts.

50/50 split is not what I like too do but will take it sometimes. But 60/40 is alot better.

You don't? Then clearly you're not doing the math.
ie. say it was a $10+0.50 buyin, & just for this example you were splitting 50/50
Player cahses for $20, pays backer $10.50 +$4.75 = $15.25 & keeps $4.75 for himself.

I'm not real familiar with the whole deal but pay back the buy in and splitt the profit 50/50 sounds about right to me.
