I think from what you are saying you think you play a game and aren't just throwing money around hoping to win. you think that the skill part is the most important. you aren't one of those who all in all the time recklessly. that is what you think if a gambler. however poker still is gambling as even if you are good you can still lose money if you are not smart. POKER IS GAMBLING

I think it is only gambling when you buy-in if it is a freeroll it is bingo..lol j/k but really you gamble everyday you walk out the door..every day is a gamble on life..so gambling is a vast variable on the word itself.

Absolutely ...poker is definitely gambling, but that does not men a pure game of chance. All you can do is attempt to maximize your chance...again...chance, of having the best hand when the chips are in.
