A handful of weeks ago, a Las Vegas cabdriver found a laptop case containing $221,510 in cash, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Monday. He returned it.
When a gambler, who said he won it at the Wynn, was reunited with the hefty sum, the cabbie, Adam Woldemarim, received a verbal “thank you” and a tip of $2,000.
That’s less than a 1-percent tip for returning the six-figure pile of cash.
Friends of the driver reportedly were disgruntled about the tip not being larger. Woldermarim himself seemed ambivalent about the size. According to the paper, Woldermarim works 12-hour shifts up to six days a week for a measly sum of $350 a week.

Sounds OK to me. He got a paid vacation as a reward. Not every tip has to be relative to the reward.

God works in mysterious ways. The cab driver will be blessed in one way or another. It dont have to be in monetary form. Maybe in prayers. He already got the the media attention with his honesty. I wonder how many would have returned that kind of money? Good deeds happen to those who do the right thing.

Seems alright, 2k is not a small amount. The cabbie was really nice to give the entire amount back though. Thumbs up for his honesty. We need good people like him to keep the world sane.

Hmmm yea he did the right thing and was rewarded, I think I would have given him more if it was me. I gave thought to the gabbies sitiation and I am a firm believer in Karma and wonder if I could give back $221k+. I think of the finders keepers loosers weapers haha. I think of having $221k and wonder how the hell he could just leave it obv he didnt love it. I think I would have to been happy with $200k back as appose to having 0. Who would have kept it and what would you have done with it? I think I would have kept it and hit the casino all on black on the rullet haha jk idk

Well, to be honoust Im not sure what I would do when I find that amount ( or whatever amount) I keep small amounts when I find it somewhere, so where is the border/limit when you keep it or bring it back?

And I forgot to say: yeah he did the right thing, however I can imagine 2k is and feel a bit cheap

Karma is a B*tch, and the Gambler probably could of given him more money yes... but good things come to those who wait... i'd be happy with anything he gave me. Its the right thing to do, no matter how much money there was.

2gs....not enough...especially you won the money gambling...not hard earned cash...should tip the guy more...now karma will happen to him twice as bad.

If it was all about the money, the cabbie wouldn't have returned it in the first place. I'm not so sure I'd be able to turn it in. Almost a quarter of a million dollars,, that;s alot of buy ins even for the main event. So, I imange the cabbie was happy.

I guess you have to consider what being honest is worth. As far as I'm concerned, I wish someone would give me 2 K for doing the right thing.

I heard about this story. While it would most likely be a tough decision to make as to what to do, the cabbie did the right thing. A time comes in everyones life when we will have to choose between whats easy, and whats right, and they are not always the same thing. He did get $2k and who couldn't use that.
