Originally from southern ontario,havent been back for a while,interesting that the Ex has a casino now,been to Ex every summer from `68 up to 1988 (then moved east obv.) seen alot of bands,good luck at this casino!!

@donkinbuck Thanks, Yes they've had a Casino for about 10 years now. It usually opens at the end of July and goes 'til labour day. There's talk about opening a permanent Casino in Toronto, but so far no luck.

Ummm you would think it would run all year long not 3 months i have a poker female friend that lives in ontaria i will ask her about when i see her on line

Luckily Niagara Falls is just an hour and half away, so it's not too bad. I can still get my live fix in if needed

I didn't have a whole lot of luck today . But after buying $150 and playing the $5-$10 limit table, I ended up cashing after 2 hours for $143. So a $7 loss but now I've got a free pass and free parking for the length of the CNE, so it's not too bad. If anyone is interested it's all limit poker again this year..I think the highest is $25-$50. There's 28 tables total. I waited about 15 minutes at 9pm today to get a table. The atmosphere there sucks, I've seen gymnasiums that look better. It's too bad because Toronto has had some great offers from Caesars and Sands to build a world class Casino on the exhibition grounds but because of the lack of political will it's not getting done.

I have a good friend that has moved up from the old Casino in the falls to the New one and she does the registration for all major tournaments aand has met all the poker stars that attend,pretty cool job,kinda glad I`m livin where I do or I may have won or lost alot of money at the Niagara Falls Casino,pm me gjwalk and let me know where in Ontario you live we may have some common friends,but would be nice to juct chat with a fellow Ontarian!

The CNE(Canadian National Exhibition) is only around for a short while, so I'm guessing the casino is like something more to draw the folks to the CNE. I understand there is talk of building a Casino in the GTA(downtown Toronto), which I'm sure would be a great success.

My stepdad used to work at the Labbats Blue Tent as a bouncer (at CNE). I think from ~'84 to '88

He was also a bouncer at Mints Hotel. (& Mississauga Tavern, MillionDollarSaloon, LatinQuarter, & SilverDollar Room)
