I'M MAKING A MOVE FORM PLAYING ONLINE POKER TO PLAYING LIVE POKER. i KNOW THERE ARE QUITE A FEW DIFFERENCES IN PLAYING BOTH. i WOULD APPRECIATE ANY SUGGESTIONS , THINGS I SHOULD WATCH FOR, HOW I KEEP FROM BEING NERVOUS OR FEELING INTIMITATED. IN ANYONE WHO HAS GO THROUGH THIS PROCESS HAS ANYTHINK HELPFUL TO SHARE WITH ME, i WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT . tHANK YOU .

When they lay out the flop, look at other players, not the cards they are putting out. That way they cant read any reaction from you

Might help to turn off the all caps. Might get more responses. I know I use all caps in notes I write to myself, but it is considered yelling when you send all caps messages to forums.

I started live poker and then went to online, i still play live, this is what i have noticed from online players that go live. they dont handle their chips comfordably, u can tell allot by how someone handles their chips, they dont know when the action is on them so pay attention to the button, they dont make good bets, they usually overbet the pot, they over play AK and AQ, any ace really and they get smashed for it. try to not be all in preflop unless u have to even with KK, they play weak hands out of position. they also have tons of physical tells, pick up mike caros book of tells and read it to start with tells, then once u get that down pick up some good human psychology books, gl and play TIGHT

Nice reply I'm probably going to have to read your recommended book you mentioned in your post. I'm good at reading people based on bet sizing online, but when I start playing live tournaments I know psychical tells are extremely important and can give you a huge edge in a game. Not sure when I want to enter my first live tournament, but thanks for the tips!

I don't know much about "boker" personally.......

Definitely a lot more about feel vs. math of online poker. YMMV, but when I'm at the casino, people never fold. Bets are bigger. Lots of money to be made if you're rolled correctly and can take some long series of very bad beats.

"How to keep from being nervous" Ha!! You will be nervous. The first time I played poker I was so nervous I was sick to my stomach. The only cure is going back and back. After maybe my 6th session, the sick feeling left. The thing about Caro's books is that e1 else has read them also and they are great at giving false tells. So I don't put too much faith in his tips.

I found one thing to help live is to develope a routine in how you will act at the table. For instance be conscience of how you bet you want to go through the same motions when you have it or when your bluffing, take see same amount of time to bet, make the same motions handle the chips the same. always wait to look at your card until the action is on you be observing other players as they look at theirs. The players you want to watch the most are the ones who are in the cut off and button and those in the blinds to your left then expand from there.
