I have a few questions about PLO i'd like to discuss.
what hands do you defend your big blind with against a legit open-raise and against a possible steal? and do you think it's better to 3bet steal attempts? against steals i like to 3bet most of my good hands AKJ9 or 689T and call with anything that has some potential JJxx or 4589. am i 3betting or calling to much? when the raise is from ep i play really tight and don't like to 3bet.
In my league game tonight, which was,by chance,PLO,i had the BIG STACK(25K+)to my immediate right.He(PhenomBC51),was being ultra aggro, especially when it was folded to him in the SB.He was pot-raising EVERY TIME to my BB.Now,i know Brent(Phenom),& was defending with any big pair supported by suited cards(ie etc),any double-suited hand(),or straight-runners(5678,689T,etc).I won a BIG(19K) pot w/KKxx-suited vs him & then took him out a couple of hands later I think i only 3-bet once, satisfied the pot was large enough after calling his pot raises.Of course,if & when i hit i got paid.Heres the breakdown of the game tonight. The 8.45 pts i got for 3rd place tonite also puts me in 3rd place for the month of Sept-im "HanginAround"(I won Aug) Oh,& you'll probably recognize many of the players in this league as members here.Gridlock, for example, despite his dismal placing in this game tonite,is currently sitting in 2nd place for Sept!!!
Godd Luck eh

Unless ive played the player before and know he aint a bingo player,id call to see the flop with paired suiteds or connected cards with straight possibilities.i certainly wouldnt reraise a player i knew liked bingo play, as for sure they reraise and unless i want play bingo myself, ive wasted those chips ive reraised with, hence the flat call to see the flop.
I really think PLO is one of the games where you have nothing to defend(and i mean blinds).it's all about flop.in PLO there is no favorite hand preflop.
Just play a lot of buttons and try to play not to many blinds, unless your hand is good or if their is a terrible player in the hand. Position is soooooooooooo important in PLO.
Defending your blinds in PLO, its one of the hardest things to do, and I believe there's no right way to approach it. In my opinion the best way to do go about this is to call with hands that offer a lot of draws.

Honestly plo is a much harder game to adjust to than any other game i have ever played...but i only play plo cash...will nto play nlhe cash often...there are alot of hands i would defend my blinds with in plo...any small pairs with suited connectors...obv and any kinda gapped cards to hit a nut str8 or even low ends...but tend to try n stay away from lows unless u are playing with a known fish u had marked from previous games!!! thats the thing with plo....hands will never really be the same and its harder to say what u would do with a certain hand as apose to nlhe thinking1!
Most players play omaha like holdem and this is can be totally wrong !! PLO is 1 of the hardest game i think , and more skills involved then luck , hard to defend blinds too sometimes !
I very rarely defend my blinds the only exception is tournament play. I use the big game strategy only repopping or playing big wraps that are double suited in the blinds. Do not have to worry about being exploited because the player pool is full of clueless players at the stakes I have played most if the time its 2/5 or 3/6.
I myself always in pot limit omaha defend my small or big blind agains a player,it is like heads up play,in omaha heads up almost always u should see the flop
I have to say I have blown up and gone out of more tournaments when I am in the big blind in PLO... Of course I catch just enough of the floop to make me think I can bluff or dont believe they could have possible caught that draw and my hand is good. I suggest going into the hand when you want to and be in control... If the big stack wants to go splashin around, trying to steal, dont feel obligated to "defend your blind". Its ok to fold some times, why loose extra chips, they may be raising because actually have a great hand. Just remember he has a blind too and you can steal his later, be in the hand when you want to be.
