Playing no limit omaha 8
ive lost track of how many times ive witnessed a player call an all in with bare a2 in hand
when only 2 players in the pot and theres no value, plus your putting your tourney life on the line to win at max half the pot,low and behold they miss and there on the rail, then the odd time they hit the other player as nut hi and the a2 as well and they get quartered,me im folding less im very short stacked or theres 4 plus players in the pot.just my humble opinion.

I don't know if we can ever truly 'figure it out' with players such as this. Like wingman said, possibly inexperience, some play way too loose in Omaha naturally with no thought process, regardless what they will lose or gain.

A2 by itself might not be a great hand to go all in with but with some back up it could be. Give me Ac2c3sKs I might throw it all in. True, there would have to be more than 2 players in the pot. I prefer Pot limit just because there's way too much all-in action in the no limit variety.

Omaha is a game of surprises, I like to play, but you can not calculate the chance of winning, just after the last card returns after the flop you can have 90% chances, and ultimately lose this game requires experience and patience

Similar to a scenario when you KNOW you are only calling the river for half of the pot. Agree with wingman though, a lot of inexperienced players playing omaha/stud i would think...

its possible that some people fall in love with the A2 and dont know any better. me myself ill be the first to admit im a chasing donkey when it comes to omaha. only way im gonna win any money playing that game is if the deck runs me over and it doesnt seem to like to do that for me very often

Ace two can be good if you get in it at the right price multi-ways.....However,you should really be aware of the players at the table before you go stacking off with it,by that I mean what players are going to raise you with the nut low and what players are just going to flat. I prefer to bet more funky lows hands..........like 2.4 on an A.3.k.8 board. but anytime I bet a low I like to have backup. Plus I've noticed almost everybody that has the nut low at low stakes is going to raise. So if you have it and everybody else is just calling probably good to get as much in as you can. But I only bet with back-up on lows A.2 on a 548 board you need a 3 for backup if not I won't call alot of chips.......so many times have I had that nut low be crap on the river without having that 3 for back up in that spot so I will just flat that and fold sometimes if the action get too hot with too many people in on the flop.....but if you got that 3 you gonna get the low no matter what other cards fall off. And on like a 3.6.8 if you have A.2 and no 4 to back it up you can find yourself in trouble by the river when an ace or 2 drops. I lost a lot of money when I first began getting in with the nut low without back up in bingo games and most of the time cause I was like I'm winning half this pot RAISE!!! LOL

In this game you have to know very well winning poker hands, someone said it's a brutal game, I say it is a game of intelligence, I like this game, you must always be careful and calculate your chance to see if you combine cards on the table with cards in hand, of the highest combination that exists in poker, if so, bet if you fold. Some make big mistakes in this game if you have a pair or straight, all in, without having to calculate what your opponent has. One can always make a full or straight A, all and be better
