Bodog to stop 20 countries

Bodog announces it is going to exit 20 countries by aug 20th,and requests players from the countries to withdraw the balances...

The only countries affected are: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. We feel it is better to concentrate on our strengths & where we can offer the best product.
The Bodog brand is known for its high level of customer service & spreading ourselves too thinly to try and cover a huge amount of smaller markets was proving logistically difficult. Bodog.co.uk will concentrate on growing existing markets.

Really miss the old Bodog, joined it back in 2003. I remember when Josh Arieh and David Williams both sign on as pros there. Played on a table with Josh for over 3 hours there once, what a really nice guy, took him for a little bit of cash too, got lucky and hit quads on the river. Bodog/Bovada kicked all players from the state of Kentucky out of their system some time ago aftr "BF" have not been back to see if after the restrucutre they allow players from here again.

Yes,I received an e-mail from them saying they will no longer process transactions in my jurisdiction.Ok,but it's weird that Bodog considers Romania and Russian Federation smaller markets.Anyway,Betoto is another online poker room that is doing the same thing. They will no longer be available in my country either.

I guess this is another example that the online poker world is changing and I also guess the restrictions are going to get even more onerous over the coming months. I always liked Bodog but have not played there for a while. Maybe I should give it another shot.

...maybe (imo for sure) they think about Romania and Russia in terms of profits, meaning they don't like huge packs of freerolls-only players from those countries.

I am thinking the small may mean $$$$ and not number of accounts, we all know what runs things
