P2P Transfer Update: Effective immediately, Merge have restricted our ability to send p2p transfers between player accounts.
Further, as of November 1 they will be removing all players' ability to send p2p transfers from the poker client.
We apologise for the inconvenience, but unfortunately this is a decision taken by merge, and one we were not consulted on.

Im guessing based on 2 reasons. Seems like merge has changed alot of features this past few months.
  1. Too many fraudulent activities with P2P.
  2. They want you to deposit.

Probably bcuz some players have a hard time getting $ off Merge so they "sell" their $ to players from countries that have an easy time with withdrawals. That + what RK said.

That makes sense..but I wouldn't be suprised if or when merge pulls the plug on usa players..specially after the elections..and if repubs win..just my op tho.

P2P transfers are a big issue with the US Government, they view this as the biggest facility for money laundering. In the legislation now under consideration, P2P transfers are prohibited.

Freedoms getting taken away. We are going to have stories to tell. Can you imagine 10 years from now, telling poker players, there was a day you could send funds to your buddies. My God. my brother is always losing his little $2. So about every 3 months I send him a $5 to stop his dang play money habit.

Just another nail in the coffin. I bankroll manage well but do like the option of funding sites with money from other sites with dual p2p transfers. I think RK is probably on target. Merge fraud protection has never been very good so they probably get stolen CC #'s depositing and then transferring it around. I have my doubts if their recovery ability is even existent. Has anyone ever heard of funds being recovered like PokerStars used to do when players chip dumped fraud money?

I think Royal has a point here about Fraud and depositing.
Nevertheless Im still a bit afraid we can choose in 10 years, as eberetta said mentioned, just between Pokerstars and Pokerstars (FTP) and maybe some Ipoker rooms. Poker isnt that 'hot' anymore.
Not only in the Netherlands but worldwide. So many more rooms will be shutdown.

What...? Wow, I've been busy this week. Is his for real? This is TERRIBLE. This total screws up my status quo of lots of small P2P cashouts and check cashouts only for big scores. This is a serious bummer. Between Cake moving us all to Juicy Stakes and Merge pull this stunt, moving money is becoming impossible. Haven't been keeping up with poker legislation... this is yet another huge reason to have my fingers crossed that something happens for us this lame duck session.

If no see this as big red flags that merge doenst have our money and they are just ding a big cash grab, well, THE FLAG IS RED. If everyone cashed out tomorrow, think those funds are segreated, BIG RED FLAG well they dont want others to charge to do the job for them becasue the money is not there

THis is the main reason I dont perform too much brm anymore. I just play what I want to and If I need to add more, what the hell. ALl those BRM'er who lost it all on Everleaf, FT , UB, AP,and such grinding games they probably hated cause they couldnt move up stakes. Play withya want cause we are all on a ticking clock in the USA

People created multiple accounts on different sites and were doing so just to play in certain league and forum games. Also i think Royal is right when they want you to deposit. I just wish they would add more deposit options for US players and I would not hesitate to put some money on.
Some people have been actually cashing out through P2P and paypal as well. People offer something like transfer $500 to a player and they will transfer $425 to your paypal account instantly. I mean I know its a big fee but there is no paper trail back from the poker site. I think this has to do with it too.

All merge has to do is make cashouts a one week ordeal, if not then they dont have the cash and trying to jack people around as much aspossible. SO NO p2P then one week cashouts, :OH WE CANT THE PROCESSORS" fine keep P2P going and let people get their money when they want, and this stuff about the sites wanting to keep the money on the site. I bet a lot of P2Pis staying on the sites and being played with the profits made. I love how the site have themoral highground yet will be the first to pull and EVERLEAF

Of course they want you to deposit. More importantly, though, they don't want you to cash out (or more broadly, they want to slow down the amount of money being taken out of the poker economy, and thus decreasing the amount of potential rake). For this vantage point, it is difficult to say if this is purely cash flow problems (as in, they don't have our money) -- definitely possible -- or if this is to plug liquidity drains (i.e. P2P trades from US players to ROW players which are then cashed out). There could also be external factors -- i.e. Merge is trying to use this as a rationale to justify continuing to break laws they are already breaking. With Lock and ACR making similar moves, and Cake killing the US-ROW P2P market by forcing us all onto Juicy Stakes, it definitely seems like something external may be forcing their hand.

Yeah, they're desperate for deposits. What has it been, 6 weeks since Poker Maximus II ended?

There is absolutely no basis for such a statement. Need I remind you that Black Friday, the loss of Pokerstars, FTP, the loss of Everleaf . . . . these things all happened on Obama's watch, under the thumb of Attorney General Eric Holder??

Not electing Romney is no less harmful to online poker than electing him

Im familiar with the GOP platform . . . you know they want to overturn Roe v Wade too, they been whipping that dead horse for 40 years to no avail. My point is, the assault on poker is at it's worst already under the current President, and re-electing him cannot be perceived as being "good" for poker.

One more thing . . . .

Merge has a reason for doing this, and that reason is not "cuz they're stupid"
