I remember when hurricane katrina hit the Ms. gulf coast on Aug 29 2005,noone in my little town was prepaired or took it seriously, after 3 weeks or longer with no electic or water it was a tough time aug.30 was my bday and everyone including me forgot about it,first time i ever forgot about my bday, well we got hurricane isaac heading our way, again on aug 29 it suppost to hit, taking same track as katrina its like its happening all over again only one diffrence, everyones taking this one seriously, they changed the track last night and i was up at 5 am this morning getting to store before everyone else but at 5 am the stores was full this morning so i guess all are taking this storm seriously this time,i just hope it isent so bad i forget my bday again, lol.

Yep. I lived in the New Orleans area and we were part of the ones where the levee broke and flooded every house in my area.

We were renters and we didnt get the help the homeowners gotten. They came out like a king after the storm.

I grew up in houma south of New Orleans and got alot of family there,it was a bad time.In Mississippi now, seemed like here it was just the opposite, the renters got a 2000.00 check sent to them but owners had to wait for someone to come look at there houses, and I heard they was a bunch of lowballers,I lost my roof on my house, and my entire auto repair shop got blown away,I was able to fix my property myself but I heard some sad storys by home owners around here that still is living with leaky roofs.but others that lived in shacks now have 3 story houses so guess its all about knowing the system, and I guess I dont.lol

I lost all my baby pics and military pics from Katrina. Now I have all my important stuff in 3 crates and moving them to safer place to in-laws. We are taking precautions now and moving stuff now.

Well if this Isaac does alot damage, I am not coming back to New Orleans to live. These storms has taken a toll on me financially and emotionally.

It seems like every region has its own environmental fear. Southeast US has tornados/hurricanes, West US/Asia has earthquakes, Northeast US has Noreasters...

Anyways, best of luck to you and your family and everyone else affected by these natural disasters. Definitely puts getting sucked out on with aces in perspective

World Record High Temps in the Summer;World Record Low Temps in the Winter!
World Record Monster Storms like Katrina, etc;Unprecedented numbers of Tornados, incl some in places like Manitoba,Canada that rarely,if ever get them,& yet theres still folks who deny that theres a global climate change/shift taking place!!

Y'all stay safe & remember that all this we have going on here is secondary to the health & safety of you & yours!

Good Luck eh
