I hope i come close to getting the gold trophy in tonight's tourney this wud be the third time im playing a winterleague tourney last two times i had really bad luck. will try my best hoping to get lucky tonight!

I think you need a little bit of luck from the poker gods in the later stages of a tournament, i mean you could hold KK and another person can hold JJ and hit a jack on the flop and you can lose, or your AA can be cracked by a freaky straight, so a little luck does come into play, hang in there and give it your best shot, good luck.

I read a excellent article at some point the past few years. It discussed play on the final table, which they called the end game. It basically sums up degrees of tightness you have depending on how many are at the table. The more shorthanded it becomes, the more hands you add to your opening repertoire, but still using your standard style of play, whether it be aggressive, passive etc. It helped a ton check it out see if you can find it, great FT strategy.

Don't despair,Samurai, that day will come. The fact that you have done several times in the first three shows that you are good.

One of my 3rds came vs 2 of the leagues best and Hall of Famers Complex and Chris. Another one was vs David when he still played. Sometimes you just have to get lucky with who you face chip stacks and playing styles.

A good combination of luck, timining, and skill are needed to win a big tourney. Unless you are just a lucksack the whole way through lol.

I've played maybe 10 league games so far and am still waiting for my first final table appearance.

I went out of today's event pretty early with AK. I just happened to come across someone with AA. I raised, got re-raised, and got it all in preflop and he flipped over AA. Made my exit after the fifth or sixth hand I believe. It sucks, but poker is poker. Good luck next weekend, I sure hope I run better than I did this time.
