On the bad days

On the bad days while playing, know I mean the real bad days, days where nothing is going right, I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is going your way, what continues to compel you to play?? For everyone, the answer to the question will differ. But some players will have multiple driving forces compelling them to play, while others will have one specific one. There will be others who say nothing "compels" them to continue playing (maybe I'm using the wrong word) and those that say that just walk away from the game (their computer) for a while, hours, days, weeks. It can also vary or change, one day it's one thing that keeps you playing while the next day (time things go bad) it's something else. The mind is a very funny thing, and I know mine at times can have me just confounded . When things a real bad for me and I feel like there is a BIG black cloud hovering over me, sometimes it's the "sure fact the variance is just playing its part, and in the long run it will even out." And sometimes it's my ego that kicks in and is screaming "FUCK this!! We're SSOOO much better then these clowns, muppets, fish, donks, (insert your adjective here ________.)" LOL
What is it that keeps you firing up another MTT/ Sit& Go or reloading at a ring table when the poker gods seem to be plotting against you???

(Special note to RK, I wasn't sure if this should go in here or the online poker section. Sorry for any confusion)

Now I'm not complaining , this is not a bad beat blog at all . This is just one of those very frustrating hands that get you down on online poker . I would of bet a lot of money especially after the flop that I would win this hand . In fact , I think I was counting my chips already when I got that omg look at his hand ! I think I even took a second look at the hand , lol . However , I have played enough poker over the last 5 or 6 years to realize that these hands happen ! I have set some goals for this year & one hand , one day , one week , one month of bad , questionable poker either by me or other players will not stop me from learning more about this game & advancing on in my quest for poker excellence !
Am I mad at the site for the set up hand dealt to me ? Am I mad at the player who played A K & flopped 2 K's on the flop ? Am I mad at myself for not going all-in or check raising him & maybe not giving my opponent a chance to hit an Ace . no , that's poker , I'm over it ! In fact I have to go now , I have another game starting in a few minutes ! Take care , see you on the felts ! I'm over it , I am , I really am !

Well, my excuse. I i wanted to sit for 4 hours to play midnight poker, period. After about a half hour of four all ins that were well ahead pre-flop and lost, I know I can play for the next three and a half more hours and not win as much as I lost in that half hour time frame.

Very similar to dieting. You can be on a diet for two weeks and lose 5 pounds, then turn around and gain 5 pounds in the next two days. The math just don't add up.

II don't like to over bet AK or AQ they can be beat by any pair.so i like call but not bet to much till after the flop. Then i will fig out what to do with the flopif i get part of it then willplay the hand watching the bets whos doing what.if they check i may try throw out small bet or i my check.IF i feel i know how this player plays to see what i can get out of him its all game its all a game trying to out play the players NINER 187
