Now I'm not complaining , this is not a bad beat blog at all . This is just oneof those very frustrating hands that get you down on online poker . If your hand can be beat , be very careful ! I would ofbet a lot of money especially after the flop that I would win this hand . Infact , I think I was counting my chips already when I got that omg look at hishand ! I think I even took a second look at the hand , lol . However , I haveplayed enough poker over the last 5 or 6 years to realize that these handshappen ! I have set some goals for this year & one hand , one day , oneweek , one month of bad , questionable poker either by me or other players willnot stop me from learning more about this game & advancing on in my quest forpoker excellence !
Am I mad at the site for the set up hand dealt to me ? Am I mad at the playerwho played A K & flopped 2 K's on the flop ? Am I mad at myself for notgoing all-in or check raising him & maybe not giving my opponent a chanceto hit an Ace . no , that's poker , I'm over it ! In fact I have to go now , Ihave another game starting in a few minutes ! Take care , see you on the felts! I'm over it , I am , I really am . I think I am ! I hope I am ! ?

Are you mad that your raising K8o to take down 60 chips though? and it cost you this amount. I understand raising when blinds and antes are worth nicking, but this early on at 60 chips?

It's really great to hear that you are not letting a bad run stop you from joining that next game Grid. As you said, we are always learning in this game we love to play. IMHO, it is how one takes the beats that will make you a successful player. Sounds like you have a great attitude Grid....See you in the next game my friend!!

I like both your guys' perspectives, you got to stay on a lucid mind set because there are factors you can't control in poker and you can't focus or dwell on those you just have to give your best effort and have a good attitude so you can play the poker the cards let you play. Poker is so mental and the less psyched out you are the better it is for your game.

Thank you Arwen , I've had a lot of questionable / maybe bad beats but as you say , you just continue on & hope that you get a few going your way sooner or later . Tonight , I had a few go my way , so what can I say . The person that raised this hand is known to raise on a variety of hands , so I didn't think twice about calling his raise to defend my big blind & to see a flop . I should of known better when he went all in but I didn't put him on that hand , maybe a Ace , maybe a King , but certainly not both ! Oh well , that's poker . But I had a boat !!!! Very tough to fold sometimes !

I ment calling not raising. Yeah i understand that the guy is raising alot of hands. But let him have the 40 chips its not like your at 200/400.
This is the problem when you dont 3bet oop when you think the guy is stealing but with not a very good showdown hand and this early its not good to flat oop. As this is the extent of why you shouldnt be flatting or calling with K8o in the bb

Why would you call a 3 bet with k 8 off anyway?tahts barely a calling hand if your not in the bb or sb.let alone call a 3 bet raise.yes its unfortunate the way it went down.its just another example of busting in a hand you had no buisness in anyway.look at it this way.you were dominated b4 the flop and the best hand came back to win.unfortunate as it is mayb you should learn to play a smaller hand range in the early stages of tournaments.

I can't see that you did anything wrong. Calling his raise preflop is ok IMO. He could have had a small or mid pair and wanted to look strong. No one knows at that point and K8 is not a terrible hand. And with that flop, your down for the ride no matter what! It happens that way sometimes, and in the the best hand did win. But I do LOVE your mindset and think that is one of the GREAT things about our crew. We play, we learn, and we move on. And we have a blast doing it!! Keep rockin' grid!!!!

It was nothing wrong from what i see.you were big blind it was a normal raise 3BB,and you have to pay only 80 not that much.the rest...is just another joke of the online poker.but that's it keep playin.and about that you give a chance to your opponent to hit an A...if you go all in there you will be instant call by someone who have AK in his hand and flop in KK8.so as i say a really bad hand where you have nothing to do after flop...you can't fold a full house.

An absolute cooler. You can't bet on the flop, chances are nobody else hit the flop (although not in this scenario).

But it's a good point, you should always remember that if you dont have the nuts, you can always be beat

Like I said , this is not a bad beat blog at all , this is just one of those hands that if you hit on the flop , you can put a larger stack of chips on your side . Whether it was to defend your big blind against a player that is known to raise on a variety of hands , or just defending your big blind , I didn't think twice about calling his raise to defend my big blind & to see a flop , setting an image early in the game that I'm a tight player that won't be bullied . I believe I'm a better player after the flop , but after an almost perfect flop for me , I think I put the blinders on & believed that my full house couldn't be beat ! Wow , was I wrong , lol . The moral of this story / hand is to always be aware that if there is one hand / card out there that can beat you , chances are it will show it's ugly head & beat you ! No matter whether you have played a very good hand or a very so so hand , always be aware of a better hand . Every hand you play or don't play should be a learning experience to better your own knowledge of how to play this game & advance on your quest for poker excellence ! Mine is not there yet , but I'm working on it , lol .
