You're right. the term "bad beat" is thrown around so much.

"I got such a bad beat when my AT lost to his Q9!" No, you were only like 60% to win the hand to begin with.

In my opinion, a bad beat has to be losing when there is a 80-85% chance of victory.

Is it like when a smaller hand wins a big hand ?

The line would be where the amount of outs is significantly low. I would say four or less cards as outs would make a for a bad beat. Lets also take into consideration whether the cards need to come consecutively, that can also make you sick to your stomach.

Ill tell you 2 of the the sickest bad beats i ever had online.1st was on bodog.2/4 no limit.was dealt kk fop comess kka turn a fop a.was all in after flop of course.what a surprise opponent had an a.lost a 600 dollar and some odd pot.that was sick

A bad beat is when u are 90 % favorite and lose on the river or on the turn when the lucky guy(fish donk,or maybe a good player) makes runner runer flush str8 or 2 pair.When u are all inn with Ak vs 10 J and a jack hits the flop this is not a beat bet,this is my opinnion maybe I'm wrong but this way I see a beat bet.I think I know very well what a beat bet is because i lost so many hands.If i can get a penny for every bead bad I will have money for a vacation al least

My worst bad beat was when i floped fools gold or teh fake nutz as i call it.i raised with poc kings in mid pos .the button min reraise me so i call . the flop was K 5 5.im like oh yea so i checkd cause teh otehr guy had the lead preflop by his min reraise.he moves allin im like WTF.. 55 is onlt thing or maybe ace king.so i call and he turns over A 2 of.im like yess then it happen 5 on turn so im like dont do it..talking to myself . boom 5 on river.he wins with quad 5`s. with ace kicker. my floped boat gets screwd by the runner runner.

I think no, since all the action is pre-flop and whatever happnes afterwards will happen

A bad beat is whenever you lose having the better hand regardless of the percentage..bad beat is the same if you hold ppkings and win against a guy holding ppaces..because preflop the aces were ahaed percentage wise

When some one get an two runners after the river. When before the turn and the rivers his chance for winning the hands are smaller than 10 %. Sometimes when i go all in and the other guy call me i am sure when he get an runner after the turn i will go down and he will get lucky river .

A badbeats when he hits his 1 or 2 outter on the river.. or gets runner runner

I think a bad beat is when u get knocked out by a worse hand, i wish i could hit one of those bad beat jackpots.

I'd say 3 outs or less after the flop is a bad beat so what's that, like 86-14? a 1 outer on the river (98-2) is the sickest though, like set over set, and he hits quads. Those are the ones you are really allowed to complain about. You can be upset about the other bad beats, but realize they happen to everyone, and I'm sure you've been on the other side of one, no matter how good you think you are.
