Phil Hellmuth's Texas Holdem

Just a fair warning for all those looking for good poker books out there. Phil Hellmuth has a book out there called Phil hellmuths texas holdem. Do not buy it. The man has had obvious success in tournament poker, but the content in this book is not helpful at all. I fell for the trap, dont do the same as I did.

Not much of a book reader myself. Have never read any of the poker books out there and don't intend to start now, would only give me casue to think I would know what I'm doing when I play the game...

I've not read any of phill helbuts books but I have watched his poker video's and found them usefull .... at least as a beginner. When I first started tournament play, phill through his video's guided me. I still watch them now and then when I think that I need too.

He obviously has a successful resume, but I can't stand the man...all of his tirades are like when a 6 year old doesn't get the toy that he wants to play with.

Supposedly he has imprvoed with his behavior, he did compose himself well at the big drop tourney.

Phil is a nice enough guy, but he doesn't like surprises; which is the very thing that keeps Texas Holdem from being boring! Yea, I don't like dead beats and bluffs when I am on the receiving end of them, but taking the immature way out by ranting is a bit diva if ya ask me.

Yes Phil Hellmuth is a bad counselor, it is not clear just how he won with such a bad game as bracelets

Everyone always cuts on phil .. truth is he is a horrible cash game player, but that same style makes him a very consistent winner on the tournament circuit, hes not as good as he once was in holdem because the times has changed.. but has become a all around poker player, and even cashed for a cool 2mill+ this yr at the one drop.. much credit to hellmuth for keeping up with the times.
