A good one to read is the "Theory of Poker" by David Sklansky just a good foundation for poker in general whether live or online.

If you are mainly going to be playing online Killer Poker By The Numbers by Tony Guerrera is a definite read. This one can be a bit tedious there is alot of math formulas and practice work to reinforce what is being taught.

What kind of books are you looking for begginer or intermediate game specific?

Haha I do love the titles of the books I check it out right away.

I'm looking for intermediate gmae specfic :)

I have quite a few poker books which I've read. When I first stared playing poker online, I picked this one up at chapters. I found it particularly interesting because it dealt specifically with online poker.
The book is called ONLINE POKER in easy steps, (a fitting name :) It's written by Stuart Yarnold. Written in plain english , bully illustarted and easy to follow.

Well I started reading elements of poker and got half way through and stopped. I found it more intresting at the tables, i think that is the best was to learn. We learn from are mistakes!

A really good internediate level book is the Poker Blueprint by Tri Nguyen it covers NLHE and is available in print or an e book. What game are you looking for reading material on and format?

If you can, skip the books and watch vids. So much better IMO

I am sorry to book fans but i agree with bOyA on this one. watching videos is more fun and can sometimes be better way of learning than reading something. same thing for video game guides as well if i read it takes me ages rather than watchin a video on youtube for a particular achievement or level im stuck on. i guess a mix of both would be nice u get both knowledge and entertainment

As was already mentioned > what format are you interested in? Cashgames, MTT, SNG, PLO, etc., etc.
For NLHE I'd suggest starting out with Phil Gordon's "Little Green Book"

Then for Tournament play > Harrington On Holdem Vol.1 & 2

For NLHE SNG, Collin Moshman Sit'nGoStrategy (or Phil Shaw's SNG book).

For intermediate NLHE Tournament > Kill Everyone 'Elky Edition'

For more advanced NLHE Tournament > "Winning Poker Tournaments - One Hand At A Time Vol.1 & Vol.2"
Also: The Raiser's Edge

Anyone who suggests that it's not worth bothering to read poker books has obviously not read many poker books (or at least has not read any good ones). None of the books I've listed above are a waste of time & imo they'd all be +ev for you. (but -ev for me because I'm giving you this information) ;)
