So today I walked into this little shop, seen a series of books on the shelf and gave a look. Figured only book on the shelf, but ended up being a second and more... five. Anyways, been there plenty of times and never seen any books, well since I started the Weekend Series at least. So I decided upon two of the five books even though I wanted them all for reference.
At least I could look like I have knowledge.
I decided on Zen AND THE ART OF POKER by Larry W Phillips and another titled ol plain Hold'em Poker by Sklansky and for what I misread at first, Malmuth. I thought this was by Helmuth's son or close relative., lol
So about to begin readings on these two and see how fairs out. SOrry I can't explain or speak for these books just yet, but thought this was a pretty cool find.

Love finding little treasures unexpectedly!! You want to quickly and quietly get them out of the shop before anyone else sees them!! Good luck with them and I hope they help you. Sklansky I find brilliant once you have unpealed a layer or two!

Yes, I will definitely get back with you after I read them. I did go back to the same store and picked up another and coincedentally the name of the book is The Tao of Poker by Phillips and actually it goes with the Zen and The Art of Poker. lol When I was there getting those books, had no clue the two went together.
So could be a good read.
They are older books, so probably some newer stuff out there but for now these are my bibles. lol

Zen and the art of poker is a nice little book. read it a few years back and some of it helped me with my issues with tilt. some is questionable but as with most books, you use what helps now and reread later to pick up what you didnt understand before.

Not at all saying anything about you reading poker books. You should if you think it will help. But it is funny because it brought to mind what I read on ROYALKNIGHT's profile. Where it says Poker Books you have read, he said never read one. lol And the thing is he don't need to. He also calls himself a fish, and said to look at his stats. lol

Hi, all known books are online, but my opinion is that it is not necessary to read poker books to myself to play well in poker. Many good professionals have not read any books about poker. and that they do not interfere with making a lot of money. personally, I do not read books on poker and learn all by himself. to each his own though. who can then be read and much to learn from books. but I repeat that personally I prefer to learn from the forums and on samples of different approaches to the game in action. anyway good luck in your search
