Pocket A's Good or Bad?

Obviously this is a good hand, and every hand can lose to another, but I have lost 5 out of the last 6 pkt A's. I slow played the first one, my fault, but the rest I just went all in. I have just recently got back into on line poker after a long break, well since the nightmare happened. There are only a couple sites that offer USA players to play for real $$, which still will not allow deposits, and it seems like they are much different than what I remember with Pokerstars and Full Tilt. Anyone else feel this way?? I miss Pokerstars....Anyway, probably just a run of bad luck, wah wah...Like I will ever fold em, lol...Any comments appreciated...ZAPPERS!

I always lose with pocket A's, they just don't like me. I would rather have pocket K's. I never fold them, but like I said they bite me in the butt 9 times out of 10.

Cant really do much about bad beats. As long as you play them the way you should by raising and trying to push the weaker hands out of the pot you cant really do much more than that.

AA preflop is usually what puts me out of a tourney

It's statistically a good hand man and if you are pressuring other people to play good hands then you aren't playing bad, you just arent streaking well man. It happens and it sucks and its frustrating and if it effecting your whole game sometimes its good to take a little break from poker. I definitely have before. You should look at the post about bankroll man, the reason why you want to have such a high bank roll is for bad/rough beats like losing with pocket As. I'm sorry to hear about those bad streaks man :/ have faith man, luck will turn for you!

It's statistically the best hand preflop, but if you play correct and always ready to fold them you will have no problems.that's in case you didn't go all in preflop.in this case it'a all about your opponent luck.

If you think positive your chance with winning with it increasing believe me, but I do lose with it too sometimes.
Slowplaying AA is really tough becuase you don't know what your opponents have.

I have been seeing this statement or something along the lines of it, at the tables and in many forums lately. "There are only a couple sites that offer USA players to play for real $$, which still will not allow deposits." Now, I have only deposited one time in my life. But it was fairly recently, and on a skin on the MERGE Network. I used a pre-paid VISA Walmart Money Card (Green Dot). You find it near the cash register at Walmart. You get a TEMPORARY card (that can be used immediatly for purchases within the U.S.). You take the card and pay the cashier the amount of money you want to put on the card(it's pretty simple) plus a fee of $3 I believe. You then go home and log onto the site on the back of the card, put in your information, and within a few days you will have a personalized card with your name on it, THAT CAN BE USED FOR INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES like online poker deposits! That is how I deposited and it worked great! It is by far the easiest way to deposit, and as far as I am aware, ALL Merge and Revolution(Cake) sites accept these cards!

it is possible to lose it on him many times

I normally get my aces cracked as well and get burned most of the time. All depends tho and when playn them on merge it happens 95% of the time it seems. Could there be a different outcome? Of course especially when it comes to exactly how you choose to play them. I have slow played them as well as shoved pre or post flop etc and the outcome is similar wit a lil different outcome in each way their played is wut I found. Hope your luck turns around and you finish the season and or whereever else you play strongly. I despise pocket A's and would rather play pocket 3's over them any day :P~~ *hugs*

Poker variance stinks, I just lost QQ against KJ when the guy hit a K on the river. I mean, 6 AA is a real small sample size. It always hurts a little bit more when you lose with aces, but you just gotta keep your head up and forget about it

I push very hard with AA because if you don't hit on the flop your hand is in real jeopardy. I normally lose with AA maybe I need to rethink my strategy.

I appreciate all the input, advice, and examples everyone. It's funny, but I haven't got pkt A's once since I wrote this, lol. I guess it really does depend on the situation, players and chip stacks, including my own, on how to play them. It's just that feeling when you have been card dead in a tourney, and those A's show up. I always assume I'm going to get some chips out of them, used to that is. I think I just need to play more hands, more aggressive play. Thanks again all, and gl always!DM

Play them and lose... AA is now becoming the worst online hand. IMAO!! Lets rewrite the odds on online poker... After all no matter the odds. We keep watching the amazing are selves every time we log on.

Sometimes its a good idea just to shove with them because they are so tricky to play because someone gets lucky always against them but this way you can probably pick up the blinds and not lose a single chip.

Aa is the premier starting hand.although its value is determined by how many callers you get.the more callers the less the value.it is definately an isolation hand 4 sure.the only draw back to pocket pairs perod is you really cant expect much help from the board usually so the tend to get easily cracked.it all relies on how you play them post flop.aa is a hand i in no way shape,or form wanna see a flop with(:

You gotta remember though, you're pocket aces are only 2 of the 7 cards you are going to see. In another way of looking at it, less than 30% of the hands has been shown to you. Some people declare victory as soon as they see the aces preflop, when there is still 70% of the cards to come out. Just because NFL teams are winning in the first quarter doesn't mean they will have won in the end.

Defense wins championships. How to defend your AA, high initial bet get some to fold. Good post in oldhipp's wall comments from my teammate on this subject. Check it out.

Everybody who has played poker for a while could tell the same story with pocket A's but over a large number of hands your pocket A's will come out on top over any other hand. In my experience most players do not keep track of their real statistics and tend to concentrate on their losses. Play 10K hands plus and then come back and tell us how many times you lost with them and how many times you won with them.
