Since joining the poker forum three weeks ago I’ve noticed that it has an average of 200 to 300 members a day logged in on the site and an average of 800 visitors check out the site each day. With that many daily members who log in each day you would think that more blogs and forum post would be made here on a daily basis since the forum requires members to be active to earn points to register for the tournament series which they are currently hosting.

Checking out the main forum page each day one hardly see’s the activity that you would expect with so many people login into the forum each day. I use to belong to a forum many years ago that require it’s members to post comments to earn a ticket to their hosted games, but found that place to be very dull. This forum at least has more sections of interest than most of those other posting forums. The are many areas here to visit and checkout which is why I 'm kind of baffled why more post are not made here.

The forum requires postings from it’s members to earn points for the tournaments and with so many other sections here to make a comment post, just wondering why it’s not done more. Maybe I’m not seeing it, but for me, it’s a lot simpler to post on a thread, blog or section that has already been started than to actually write a blog or forum post myself. So I guess my question is, what do you do when you log into the site? Do you visit other sections and make a comment or do you simply make your own postings to keep active and earn your points, or perhaps both?

p.s. hope this one is a 5 pointer, lol... ( yipppeeee it was )

Just read through your entire "5 pointer" and got a chuckle at the closing. You seem to be having no trouble finding something in all sections to say. That is a good thing mind you.

As far as the question about the members vs guest, I thought it was commutative on the guest but that was before the software platform was updated. It is a great question, but one I don't have the answer for definitively. Like you, I had no trouble finding things or places to post.

Blog section seems to be the less used of the site and does offer some editing and doesn't get closed for inactivity. Normally will just post on discussions that are of some interes as most have heard my ramblings over the past year. Can almost feel the eyes roll from the members when I post any more. Something tells me in the immediate future you will be directing traffic and answer members question, mind you that is also a good thing.

I always look to the latest threads first. I am probably my worst enemy in that I won't generally answer a post unless I feel that I have something to truly add to the conversation. I check on my team's page while there and respond to anything necessary (no points for that btw).

You would think alot more would actually post things and comment on certain topics....but i kinda find it kinda interesting that there is so much more input out there and that we could have alort more discussions goin on!!! if it were easier to earn points i would believe people would be more active....call me crazy but i am finding it kinda inbetween!!!

I'm a woman. I can talk about anything. Not finding it hard to earn points or add thoughts or to even create a blog or post. Not yet anyway. Have to stimulate the gang with some interesting stuff. Im trying, Im trying. Im trying. I do agree that the responses are scarce for the most part. Seems that people check in and then leave rather quickly. All in all though I am having fun though.

Poker.org got a interesting traffics but in the same time those other visitors is most of them is just bots and spams.
That's make it seem like it's a lot of visitors, even thought there is 300 players online here not everyone have enough points.
A lot of them are clueless what to do.

When I first sign in to Poker.org I visit the left side of the page, click on 'club' and check out the latest entries posted. Then proceed to the 'blog' section (these often are the most fun). And always check out the 'poker news'. If any of the headings catch my eye, I take a peek at them and occasionally offer my 2 cents. I don't blog alot, but when I do, it's something I need to get off my chest or a topic I would like to share with others. In the end, I don't find it difficult to accumulate points at all.

I enjoy the threads with a little humour and try to respond to those as well. Actually, I prefer the humourous threads, and I don't think I'm alone....so keep 'em coming! The technical threads I feel a little intimidated and rarely post.

And I believe you should have received a '5 pointer' Mr. Pokeryall.

Yeah there are less then 100 people that play in the league games every week, so all of the registered members aren't necessarily all contributing. As for the guests, I'm not sure. I've noticed that in a couple separate forums as well as to the high number of guest visits, i don't see why they don't just register.

Ive noticed that too, even with regulars that do play i dont notice there post. Kinda makes me wonder how they get there points. I usally make small post, get my 1 point and I start new discussion on what I want to know from others, like Bluffing, favorite hand, least favorite hand and notes. Fell free to start a new discussion about whats on your mind. wow i might get 2 points for this one.

I was wondering the same thing. I do not see all the people that participate in the league making many posts at all.

It seems to be the same few. While that is common at a lot of forums, here your point balance relies on you posting. Is there another way to get points that perhaps I am missing?

I am not much of a chatter so when i post stuff usally i have to post alot to get my points but i make several comments to post almost everyday or every other day at least.

@ potfan420 & wingman: there are ways of making points besides comments to threads and starting new threads: one (profitable) is to post in the personal blog, or add new hands, sections of the forum that for me at least are less visible, but where girls and boys here are active.

I think starting a blog or a thread gets the same number if points.

There is an average of 100 members in the league.

Those that dont participate in the league have used poker.org for VIP programs. Such as EuroPoker like this. You will see that there is 14 members who won in the July VIP by using poker.org links and participate in the VIP program.

I kno quite a few have built up their points over playn in the last few sessions. It can be a hassle to achieve enough points at times I have found if your schedule doesn't allow you to be on here while posting 24/7.

I would say that this is a good thing.
Many registered members partake but are slow to puke out some blah, blah, blah response.
Points are easy enough to earn here without having to spew needlessly. Better to show restraint and only add to the discussion when you have something (unlike this) that adds to the discussion.

Well my excuse is I lost my way here after getting bombarded with college courses, but by golly I am nearly a senior by age, 52, and now a full fledged senior in college, so by golly if I wanna have some fun playing my very favorite thing, holdem, by golly I am going to take the time to not only do that, but have some fun with those that feel likewise! GLA finishishing up the Spring weekend series, look forward to getting back into the swing of things!
