Run In Twice Disagreement?

Hey everyone,

So I'm sure people have seen poker TV shows like "The Big Game" and "High Stakes Poker". One of the things I've noticed about these types of shows is when one person goes all in and somebody else calls, they immediately start asking "How many times do you want to run it?"

...For those of you who don't know, since it's not like the WSOP tournament play, they can choose to put 2 separate flops, turns, and rivers down, with the pot being split into 2 halves, with each mini-pot going to the winner of each separate hand. I have seen people run it up to as many as 4 times...

My question is...on TV, the pros always seem to agree how many times they want to run it. What would happen if they didn't? Like, one person was adamant about running it 3 times, and the other person was adamant about running it once? What would happen?

The reason I ask this is because I was considering adding this as a feature to my home game, and I can definitely see a couple of stubborn people arguing for minutes about how many times they want to run it.

If they do not agree on a number of times to run it, it stays a normal hand and the river card is the last card drawn for that particular hand.

And stick to your guns. Do not be badgered into doing something you do not want to do. If someone is pushing you to do something you do not want to do, chances are it is in their best interest, not yours.

Ok so I'm not sure I totally understand...if there is a disagreement and neither one will budge, then you only run it once?

If it's argued and not aggreed by both parties , it's made to be run just the once , thats the stadard amount and no one can force anyone to do so otherwise .

Run it once for any disagreements, but i have never seen it go more than twice, 3 or 4 times is asking for problems..i think.

Man do you guys watch poker on TV....I mean really what a silly question,Variance is the reason they do it and its always wise to do such a thing when your playing with large amounts of money,I`ve seen it done 4 times and the guy behind won it 3 times ( this happened with Phil Helmuth on tv).Its only in cash games and when large amounts are in play its only wise to try and make the best of it.
You wont see it in small stakes, but in large stakes it happens all the time, some players like Greenstien only run it once, but Doyle will let you pick how many times you want and will usually always agree, its a good thing not a bad thing!

I have never agreed with this concept. You are either all in or not and to me this is saying well I am all in but I have changed my mind and I want some of my chips back.
