We had a thread a couple weeks ago about where everyone's league name came from and it turned out to be really interesting. I think it would be really fun to figure out what everyone does for a living (if not poker). Don't feel like you need to give up any personal information (company names, etc) but I want to know generally what you all do.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?

I'll go first......

I work for a mortgage company near Richmond, Virginia. I work a freaking lot and I like my job sometimes....I am a closing consultant so a loan hits my desk when we lock the rate and leaves my desk the day before the closing with all the final docs ready to go for the borrowers.

So...how about you? what do you do?

Are you hiring...? LOL!

As for me, I work in management for a semi-large grocery store chain. Not like a big wig or anything along those lines.

Prior to this job, I was doing sales for my own automotive sales / customization / detail shop.

What do you mean? I'm a pro poker player

Before i took this road i was running a small ISP service in my area, till i got bored of it.
I promised myself many years ago that i would never ever again work for others, and i'm keeping my promise for now. Poker it's a great opportunity for me to get payed for how much i think/i can do, not for selling my time to others.

Well put, Tzest0s. I have been in the "real" work-force for a little over two years now and it's really annoying. All it has done is give me added motivation to get my poker life together.

Hence AC. I just wish there were live casinos in VA and I didnt have to travel so far to play live.

Anyways, I like this thread....keep the responses coming!

I work in middle management for a fuel distribution company in rural Victoria/Southern New South Wales, (In Australia)

The company has seven fuel depot's spread out over a fairly huge area and 40 retail sites.
These are from Broken Hill (Where MadMax/Road warrior was filmed in the desert, to logging towns in the Australian Snowfields,... where "man from Snowy River was filmed!)

My role is in the retail sites, crunching numbers, (making sure the chocolate is eye level so your kids see it more easily!), managing all of our on site retail staff, dealing with, negotiating with supplier for price and service etc.

My boss allows me to load poker sites on the company laptop i use so i can play when on the road when stayin in motels! (On the road about one week per month on average)

Kinda fell into this job by accident about 7 years ago,...started out as a fruit picker for the 1st 15 years of my "working" life, (mainly citrus, stone fruit, almonds, vineyards etc), with a little sheep shearing, bar tending, and other "horticurturally" type of things.

(Sorry bout the long post,... Friday night after a big week at work and relaxing with a few quiet bourbons,... i get "chatty" after having a few,...)

Be on Pokerstars mid morning tomorrow tho!

I was a trucker driving the 18 wheelers for 25 years until I bumped into a medical problem and had to go on S.S. Disability which blows . Damn no one wants to work but I miss driving and all I do now is stare at them rigs as they drive down the highways it's a rough job but I really miss it and I made great money and had super benefits. I'm probably by far the youngest on this forum, but I'm not out of school yet. I'm looking at a few things, but am looking at being a linguist or agent for the government in some aspect. Lol, maybe I could get the inside deal for everyone
