Carbon's New 125K Sunday Tournament

I dont know if everybody has seen the new tournament that Carbon has on Sundays now. They replaced the 100k to 125k. And you still can win a seat to the tournament by gaining like 250 points in that week. They have also increased the freeroll winning seats to 125 instead of 100.
I played in this past weeks 100k and the prize pool was like 149k with 29k to the winner. Not too bad. Whats even better is that the buy-in stays the same as the 100k. So for $100+$9 will get you into the Sunday 125k tournament. Go check it out.

That sounds really nice. If only I could afford that high of a buy-in, I'd win some nice cash. Any player lucky to take first is definitely cashing out. Anyway, if anyone here will play the, tell me and I'll be happy to rail. That's a hell of a tournament right there.

Sounds like a great promotion, like boostmybankroll said the buyin is high for kids like us, but best wishes to all who play and take a share of the $125,000, great tournament.

How does one get into the 100 seats to the 100k tournament? Sound perdy cool, i might have to give it a try with ya a few times. Have yet to play in a big tourny on merge and certainly don't have the roll to buy in yet, at that rate, i would have to have at least 1k to fit the percentage i go by.

Oh ok i see, looked it up, so if you get 250 vip points you earn a free entry into the seats freeroll. Hmmm, wonder what kinda grinding that would require. I shy away from cash games. Can the points be earned through sitn go play maybe? Geez that would be some serious playing time lol

There is a freeroll qualifier where you can win an entry coupon to the Sunday 125,000 Guaranteed Freezeout. It used to be called the "100 Seats to the $100K" but now it to has been upped to the "125 Seats to the $125K" Freeroll.
To qualify for the freeroll you need to earn 250 VIP points between 00:01 on Sunday, and the freeroll start time of 15:00 on Saturday (both times are EST).

Go to "Player Admin" in your favorite Merge Network poker room and find "125 Seats to 125k".
To help you keep track the "125 Seats to 125k" page has a counter which shows your weeky progress towards 250 VIP points. Once you reach 250 points you can register directly into the freeroll.

Details for "125 Seats to 125k Freeroll"
Start time: 15:00 poker time every Saturday from the 14th of May 2011
Top 125 places will receive a $109 coupon which can be used to enter the 125k Guaranteed.

Details for "Sunday 125,000 Guaranteed Freezeout"
Start time: 15:00 poker time every Sunday from the 15th of May 2011
Entry: $109, $109 coupon or 10900 VIP points.

All you have to do is gain 250 points from rake or tournament entry fee's. Its not hard to do. If you get 250 points within one week, meaning Monday thru Sunday you will be able to register for the 125 seat freeroll on Saturday. You can check you status in your admin page under promo's.

Sorry to sound cynical, but if the prize pool is now routinely 149K, they aren't adding a thing by making it 125K instead of 100K. I have won seats to this twice and have found that, since most of seats are won, they play it like a free roll. If you are lucky enough to have a good hand in the early rounds when the idiots go all in, you may cash. I didn't.

Although the $109 $100K was getting about 1300 players, so this isn't really a big deal, I still think it's a good thing overall.

I'm pretty frustrated with the whole $100K/$125K sunday tournament myself. I've won entry into it probably 8 times and I've only cashed once for around $350 or something. I just decided to give up on it I guess and try to learn cash games, which is taking me longer than I thought it would. I've observed the game multiple Sundays and it requires at least 8 hours, probably 9, to actually win it. To me, this is not worth it anymore; my personal "time limit" for playing poker is 5 hours. After that, I'm too tired and need to get something to eat (I'm somewhat hypoglycemic). If it were like the old Poker Stars Sunday Million, where I could win WAY MORE THAN $20,000 (I guess it's $25K now), I might be able to justify it. $20K would definitely change my life, but it wouldn't be that big of a change.

Another frustration is RPM is my main site with rakeback (35%), and for some reason they don't run this 100/125 seats to the $100K/$125K freeroll at all. I got to Wind Level on Carbon which gives me 10% rake back but even so, I can't justify playing on Carbon any more, except for the freerolls and private forum money added games.

More players began to play, here and have increased a prize fund. I remember still when played it, overlay was approximately 20ะบ. Good tournament, is pleasant to me. In general all is logical, work in necessary a direction.

I have never had a chance to play in this yet. It is just too expensive to buy in.

Blah...I would never be able to get 250 vip points in a week to get a chance at a seat, but I know a few ppl who play it every week and it takes some grinding.

They are getting plenty of players with increased traffic apparently so they just boosted the freeroll entries to match the increased guaranteed prize pool. They must be getting it covered every week or they probably wouldn't have done it.
