Ok no more talking about it under my breath here goes...... I just tried to go to 3 different threads from 'Latest Replies' & 'Latest Threads' to read through from beginning to end to find myself staring at 4 or 5 lines of RED wording stating that the post & or topic are closed for 3 days or more without comments or replies........... SO IF THAT IS IN FACT THE CASE WHY ARE THEY STILL SHOWING IN THE LATEST THREADS & REPLIES COLUMNS & OR WHY SINCE THEY ARE LOCKED ARE THEY NOT REMOVED TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AREA DESIGNATED SPECIFICALLY TO CLOSED & LOCKED TOPICS & THREADS! Not a happy girl after 1 then 2 & then the 3rd locked & unavailable! grrrrrrr so guess I'm done here for the night & off to take a nap before the Winter Weekend Series begins.......

They get locked for various reasons. If there has been no reply in 3 weeks, I think they get locked. You have options. If you want to reply ask they be unlocked or restart the thread.
A good way to tell that they may be locked is to see when the thread was first made.

Well since they were still in latest thread & latest replies on right side column you would think they would be current & NOT locked.

Some were locked because of spamming and copy and paste issues too. Not sure why the old ones are in latest threads though.

I do a fast lookover then I scroll to bottom of page to see if its still open for replys,then I take the time to read more,I have learned that many are closed for replys so its better to no before reading 2 or more pages.

Would be nice if the Latest Replies, Latest Threads and Popular Threads did not display locked discussions in case we wanted to comment after an interesting topic piqued our interest and we went through the time to click and read the thread. Even a good joke is good 6 months later.

Yep, you would think if they were going to close a thread they would remove it. I have read many of them that I thought I could add to just to find out its closed. Always wondered what the point in them being there was. Guess they have their reasons.
