I would be nice to get our money back. I'm certain several of you have much more at risk than I do but unfortunately it will likely be many years before US player will be able to play at either PokerStars or Full Tilt.

iceman1967 (#12) wrote: You actually believe that any american would play for fulltilt again after how they handled this?
I understand and respect the feeling of many here that will never consider playing at Full Tilt again. Personally, I was deep in the Iron Man promo and was about three months away from making a push for first level Black Card. Working both these promotions along with the increased frequent player point earning potential (at lower stakes) of Rush Poker was amazing. No other frequent player or VIP rewards program came even remotely close to the cash rewards available at Full Tilt.

With the old owners gone, it would be hard to stay away if the new owners maintain or improve on either of these promotions.

Extremely interesting news considering that everyone though Tapie was still in the running to purchase Full Tilt. There are so many different questions and variables that come into this though like whether they would merge into one network and keep separate clients or what not.
One thing that baffles me though is the fact that the DoJ is essentially ignoring the Sherman Anti-Trust Act by allowing, by far, the biggest poker company on the market to purchase the former second largest company. Essentially creating a giant monopoly in the industry that will raise some questions in the future whenever the U.S does legalize online poker.

Would have loved to see not Pokerstarsto buy FT, but someone else.
Don´t like Monopoly in this market (in any market). Thats my opinion on this.
But nevertheless for sure it is better that anybody buys it and pays all players than nobody.

I would love to see FTP running again and if players receive monies back then i think alot of players will show abit of trust back to whoever takes over FTP as they will have got them their money and i know many players just love the set-up that FTP had,it's gameplay was 1st class and will always get plenty of players imo if this goes through, monopolies i don't usually like as i like to see s1 competing with P/stars but if they pull this off it will be a masterstroke.

Would this act really apply to a non US international company who would not be doing business in the US at the completion of the deal. Its not like the government is going to allow them back into the US market anytime soon, and so far the issue has been left up to the individual states for legalization.

I for one would like to see something happen that would allow for the all players to be paid back.

Wicked Chops and Pokerfuse are reporting that the deal between the Department of Justice and Pokerstars to acquire FTP and settle their civil suit is confirmed to be complete!!!

http://wickedchopspoker.com/confirmed-pokerstars-acquires-full-tilt-poker/

We’ve been working various sources to independently confirm Poker Fuse’s initial report of PokerStars acquiring Full Tilt Poker.
According to those aforementioned sources, the deal is in fact done. PokerStars is acquiring Full Tilt Poker. The $750M price tag (which includes player balances and DoJ fines) initially reported on 2+2 and Poker Fuse is also accurate.

'PokerStars has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to buy FTP'...

Hooooo... many forums confirmed and affirmed, but PS refuse to communicate, and nothing is published by DOJ...
What do you think ??? Its only a new negociation and, unfortabily, your bankroll's FTP are in the same situation since 1 year...blocked ...

Thats reality...

Hmm. Kind of tough to sweat this thing with 2+2 being down! Funny how so many poker news sites get their scoops straight off of there. Hope they get it back up soon, it's been several days already!

I cant wait for the reopening to us euro and canada players, and great thing for stars to take over most of online poker sites with the buy of tilt. that will put them in the top for online sites, but never count out poker888 and partypoker these two sites are big as well and played alot still by euro and canada peeps

True to some extent. But honestly, 888 and Party had their chance to overtake market share with FTP's decline... and they couldn't. iPoker too.
