As part of their platform the republicans have outlawed any thought to legalizing online poker!!
If elected they will force justice dept. to change view for online poker!

While that may the party platform, it is nothing etched in stone. Still our strongest supporter in Congress is in the GOP. So far, what has the other side done for poker? Nothing is the answer, so while it is unfortunate that the party has taken this position, it doesn't change the landscape in any meaningful way.

I empathize with my friends south of the border! It certainly seems like a 'damned if you do;damned if you dont' type of situation w/the Rep's.

From my neutral standpoint up here in the Great White North,i do know that Romney seems really, really shady(his attempts to retroactively distance himself from BAIN,ill-at-ease with disclosing his tax reports,& the fact that in Italy he's persona non grata b'cuz of his business dealings-YES,ITALY!),& after watching Ryan lie thru his teeth in Tampa last week,i'd hafta concur with my bro Jerry(sorry Curt ) & say vote Libertarian...or better yet,George Carlin,here...

It is worth noting that there is nothing in the recently released Democratic Platform regarding online poker.

With the GOP's no new taxes & tax cuts for the wealthy, collecting billions from online poker doesn't fit their message. Makes no sense to me.

What a nightmare you US citizens have! Normally I moan about our government but on this issue we seem OK at the moment! Heart goes out to you and fingers are crossed for the future!

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I so hope that people do not base their vote for president based on his stand on poker. I'm thinking we have bigger problems in this great county of ours.

The government seems to allow gambling when it benefits them (Scrath tickets, Powerball, Video Poker.) why don't they just start a poker room of their own?

Question is, what are YOU doing about it? Do you simply accept what our elected officials and potential elected officials deem worthy? Or are you standing up for your right to play the game?

It's easy to blame one party over another, but when the other party is no better, what have you left? Each party counts on it's supporters believing that regardless of their failure, the "other side" would be worse. That keeps the minions in line.

If you were willing to vote for the "other side" just to send a message to your own side that failure is not to be tolerated, eventually candidates would get the message. And when it all comes down to it, the difference between the Dems and the GOP is negligible anyway.

Passivity is exploited, aggression is rewarded. So it is in poker, so it is in life!

I still wont vote for a liberal nutjob or vote with poker in mind---im voting to save my freedom of choice and speech and my individual liberty which liberals dont seem to find important-poker will eventually be legal due to the fact theyll see the need for the money...vote for whats really important..too many people trading their vote for a doled out check on my dime

I am not voting because out of the 2 that have a chance to win, they are not gonna make this country any better off. Mark my words 4 years from now
