Of course, women are just as good as men in poker. You could find out by playing heads up.
When tourneys are 80 percent men, then men are going to win 80 percent of the time.

Any success a women has at the tables is 100% pure luck. I don't care about historical results or statistics, a woman a at table of men is simply dead money. They just lack the genetic predisposition to be consistently successful in any endeavor requiring logical reasoning. Back to the kitchen and the nursery where you with all you women belong, and bring me a beer on your way wench. Just kidding. Such a silly question begged for a moronic answer.

There may be more male participants, but i know there are a few good female poker players on this website and im sure they stand the same chance as everyone else.. i would expect to see a female winner soon if there hasnt been one in this season yet.

Due to the structure being so fast in these tourneys it is crucial to learn proper shove/fold game (ie. try opening up your shoving range while on shorter stacks but a stack that still has fold equity & be sure to be shoving while you still do have fold equity).

You mean they should learn bingo lol.

Does anyone know how many women versus how many men play in this league, I think there are way more men playing so therefore more chances of men winning, but yes I feel women are quite capable of winning especially since some men not all think they are the superior race but remember you wouldnt even be here if it wasnt for some woman lol.

Every week there is mentioned of the top female finisher. Been numerous treads and discussion on this same type of subject. Question is inline with the continuity of the community inregards to female players. It is also mentioned in the professional ranks as well. Found your anecdote humorous and closing statement condescending. Perhaps the part time approach to what goes on is the reason to the perception to the question.

Normally I don't take exception to views of people for the most part but since you went to the trouble to make mention of the subject, figured I would do the same of the response.

I think in poker women have an equal chance as men to win, I will say some women players play more passively but not all play that way. The biggest factor I think is the women/men ratio. That means we need to step it up girls!

Ofcourse you can there are ladies who dominate the poker world today
so i dont see why you cant do it here
if a woman knows when to bluff and aggresiave it is very hard to play against her
you just need to learn and watch poker a lot nothing is impossible in poker and in life

This is exactly the case. In poker, the fields are always predominantly male. If there were more female players out there, you'd see more results from them.

PrincessAmi (#1) wrote: Does a female stand a chance to take down one of these session wins, and or hold a record for most tourney wins for a female? I strongly feel that we do stand a chance at doing this. That being said there are quite a few outstanding and phenominal male poker players here, but I feel everyone deserves a chance and it can be anyones game at any given time. Anyone else feel us women have a shot at achieving this?
Lol of course you have a chance, there are some great female players out there. Good luck

PrincessAmi (#23) wrote: @ RK,,,I mean the weekend events more or less for the rest of this session since its 12 games from being over. Starting next session tho, as a whole, I mean a female taking down the whole thing. I think its absolutely possible as there are a few really talented and top female poker players on this forum. I wanted to get everyone elses input and see who the sexest ones of the group were :P As I said there are fantastic male players here that I am amazed by, but us females have as much of a possibility as any male here.

@Ben and Army, thanks for the kind words and the faith fellas. Very sweet of you both. I like to think if I put my mind to doing this that it is highly possible, as it is for any other female here as well as male too. Anyone can achieve anything, at any given time, as long as they set their mind to it, give it their absolute best, and have faith and believe in themselves.

Anyways thanks again for everyone's input. I enjoyed reading most of these and appreciate all the kind and supportive words that some of you offered to myself and the rest of the females on this forum. *hugs*
Very well said and good luck on your goal!! I believe you are a winner and know exactly what it takes to win. I believe you will reach your goal and i will be looking forward to seeing you and congradulating you when you win. Never give up, i never do!!!

Gee. You make me feel so happy about offering some decent advice on here. Perhaps I'll 'adjust' & put up more comments along the lines of the ones you've posted on this thread???

fwiw, Amanda Musumeci just took 2nd place in the WSOP Ev.#9 for $481k. Final table was tough field of well-known pros (although looking thru some of the lobbys of this year's WSOP it looks like 90% of them are well-known poker pros (fields are just soooooo deep with amazing talent compared to years ago). Amanda formerly sponsored by Bodog... wonder if she picks up a new sponsor after taking down 2nd?

Fwiw, I'd say one of the single biggest mistakes I see players making in these league games is being unfamilar with SS play (or just not good at it). What may appear to be 'bingo' to some is more often than not the correct play in spots.
Bit of a derail here but, the other big mistake I see players in these tourneys making is > calling off wayyyy too large a % of their stack preflop on not near deep enough stacks (calling off w/o imp. odds), especially while OOP when they should just be getting it in or folding in that particular spot. Some call it 'bingo'... others call it unexploitable & taking +ev spots w FE.

Oh my, what a can of worms!!

Of course - women can do whatever they set there minds to do.
Problem arises if they (generalising so dont hit me!!) are multi-tasking! No point trying to win a session if trying to cook, wash-up, drive kids to club, .
