Here is the rule for dividing a teams prize amongst its members:
How is the prize money for teams divided?
When a series is over the prizes for the players and teams with the highest total event scores are given out.
Each member of a team then gets a fair share of the team prize money depending on the number of events the player represented the team in, even if the player is no longer a member of the team.
This is to ensure that no player who gets kicked out of a team during a series has wasted his or her time representing the team.
~~~ I must say, "Fair Share" is pretty vague and for us managing our teams....need to know this info. Can we get an exact clarification on what fair share means when dividing a prize pool to a winning team?
Each tournament that a player scored point(s) in count as one share, with all shares being an equal amount determined by dividing total prize by the total number of shares ( the sum of all team players shares).
So as an example.... team xyz finishes well and wins $100.00
player 1 15 games = 15 shares = $19.50
player 2 15 games = 15 shares = $19.50
player 3 15 games = 15 shares = $19.50
player 4 14 games = 14 shares = $18.20
player 5 10 games = 10 shares = $13.00
player 6 8 games = 8 shares = $10.30
total = 77 shares.... $100/77 = $1.30 (rounded up) 1 share value is $1.30
I'm pretty sure this is done automatically from the site paying the prize money. But I understand they base it on the number of games played during the series. Not sure if this helped or not, but it's the best I've got. And we've got plenty of time before the Villians have to worry about splitting any money. :)
I wouldnt mind seeing that formula. Im quite curious about all this myself. My wife was on a team called Out for blood. They were a top 3 team but she recieved $7. So yes I am quite curious about this formula.
I played 17 games and was paid $24.00:
(2011-05-17 $24 Spring Weekend Series Team Payment Accepted)
My first session here I was fortunate to be apart of a team that was in the top three. Most everyone on the team came to the league after it started. We all had different amounts place in our Rewards accounts. If you look at that account you have a tool to transfer to a poker site. Since the majority of us came in late, our prize pool was less than $25.00 which is the minimum amount to transfer. Few started teams and was able to win the next session and be able to withdraw from that account.
It is a very fair system in the way it is setup. Those who played the most games, receive the most. Those who played a few games, theirs is less. You reap what you sow, as it were. The league is very generous with these top three prize pool. What I have seen with lot the newer members or teams for that matter is lot of finger pointing, suggested rule changes and some the worst human behavior regarding the team prize. I have been very open about removing the team prize as it was created for a "fun" element. Nothing with any of the other payouts, (final tables and individual top three) has to with a "team game".
For what its worth, not to take anything a way from team prize as I have been apart of both team and individual prize money. If your team has done well enough throughout the session you have already been paid. Most have made final tables and collectively you were better than other teams individual efforts. Members of the team who played and did well have been paid, to turn around and pay the whole team in a game with no team rules only adds incentive to play as a team.
This has been a great league and a great forum. Most of the negative comments center around the team theme. Necessity for updates, chip dumping, does the game count because a certain member of a team was left out, the list can go on and on. It is a free league with a great players from all over the country, awesome software platform to exchange thoughts of any subject and on occasion good poker blogs pops up (sorry had to add that). For some they spend a lot of time here, for others they do as little as they can to play. Management has and will remove anyone who doesn't conform to what is acceptable. Let the next session be one you can improve your game, have fun and get to know some of the great members who are here for the very same reason you are.
Well congrats to all the winners , i missed out this seriers but watch out i`m out for revenge , and looking for me and my teammates to show y`all a leason next seriers ,lol , really we are a team of great players with out the luck but i beieve things will change this next seriers
I think it's actually a fair way the way they do it so if someone get's kicked off a team they still receive sin for their work instead of getting nothing,when it's divided down like that it makes me think it's not too bad missing out on 3rd place but it all counts no matter how little it may be,i'm just glad we have the games to play with some decent players on a great forum and hope it continues.
