League play

I have noticed quite a bit of rudeness, during league play in the last couple events. Is this common? , or is this just happening due to the larger fields. A couple of players have made a point to insult newer players , because they are new, with comments like ' newbies shut up until to earn to speak," personally, i can take it, but me being an ex poker dealer, i find these comments rude , and no place at a poker table. I dont care what you see on tv. I live by the motto " if you cant say something nice, then dont say anything at all. " We all have been beaten by a bad play, or bad beat, it happens, deal with it , dont cry, win or lose. I am interested in what everyone thinks!

Unfortunately there are some nasty talk quite often from what I see. I personally don't understand why some players have to act like that because they lose a hand in a freeroll. How would they act in real life if something bad happen to them? Go mental? Sure, we can all get upset when someone donks against us, but to start insulting them beyond calling them Donk or Fish is stupid and pointless. They only get themself into rage, and that can't be good for their play. I haven't heard about any rules that newbies must earn their right to speak, so shout if you want to

I think if someone calls someone a fish or a donk that they are the fish or donk themselves. I mean say a player makes a bad play but gets lucky. Don't you want them to make those bad plays? Why would you comment to them about it? Do you want them to change and play better?
Why do people want to insult others and try to hurt their feelings? To be honest I was afraid to play at first because I was afraid of making some bad plays and what others might think about it (or worse, say something to me about it). I feel a bit more comfortable now so I do not care as much but I really hate it when i see someone else behaving rudely in the chat. It spoils the game for me personally. I also think about the person who is getting belittled and I try to picture someone at their home, someone who maybe was excited and looked forward to playing the game all week long. Maybe an older woman who is retired or something. Why would someone want to spoil their game or their day? Or maybe it is a younger woman like me who is new to the game and is wanting to learn to get better some day. And really likes that they don't have to risk any money in these games in hopes that they are a good avenue to learn how to play better. Does that person want to try to ruin my game? Do they want me to feel so bad that I am too intimdated to play again? If I am easy to get chips from because of my donkey play I don't understand why they wouldnt' want me in the game? To me that doesn't make sense??

Maybe they are the donkey and haven't been playing for long enough to know that it is 'poker' and anything can happen. And if it weren't for not good players getting lucky at times then they probably wouldn't keep playing. This isn't chess. It is poker.

Me personally, I don´t really care about table talk and will react to it seldomly.
Only sometimes if someone really annoys me I will say something, but this will not rude in any way.
Mainly I laugh at such guys who are talking such bullsh.

I didn't saw any comments of this matter in my time in the league ( played only couple events though) but the ones that insult players are usually (80%) the biggest losers and donks in poker. So personally I like this kind of idiots at my table just b/c I don't tilt easily and how I said, they are fucking horrible at poker.

I wouldn't say that it's "common" but it is going to happen (it seems to in any online poker game). I just take it with a grain of salt... The earning to speak comment is a little much though, I love how some people think they because they have been part of this community for some time, that they are somehow entitled to better results.... Basically, to each their own, the same way you live by your motto, some people live with no moral standard... Not to say I won't throw out a sarcastic "well played" or "great call" every once in a while.

Feel free to report anything you want.

We ban people if they make the Poker.org experience worse for other members. Our tolerance level is very low for trolls.

Hey I saw one game, where a person made a call and got knocked out and guys team mate then berated him when he was off the table (wonder if they guy even noticed) and then the guy got kicked off the team. Keep in my mind six days earlier, the guy had made the final table, Oh wait that guy was me, Think Im interested to be on any team here now, NOPE, Im now the EZ Rider, slow and low that is the tempo. SOLO and trying to go deep, so Id rather been called donkey, fuckhead, loser, idiot then this shit I described above

I'm not the kind of guy who stand and make SS and post them on a forum, but only the fact that i'm a romanian player is way to much for some ''pro players'' around.but i really dont care about what they have to say about me and i only try to play my own game.

What i have learned over the years is that focus on your self ,and team and say nadda even no a player trys to get to a player that why, so i belive that staying in a strong mind state there is a plus to the game of poker .I understand it hits nerves, but i have only seen nice comments here good people at .org .#Never seen it here just saying.

Having only played a few games last Series, being a "noob" I did not encounter any of those "trash talkers". But I have seen quite a bit of it in the current Series. It really is sad...I think it may be that those talkers were not happy with their own play or call and they needed some way to vent. We should all welcome each other and treat each other with respect if .org wants to stay a thriving community. Remember, a forum is only as good as its members. And it's a good rule to remember for life in general!

Play and Let play is my motto. Ditto what Guru stated. Please let the admins know if there is a problem during league play.

I think some peple use nasly table talk to throu other players off their game . personally, I've never really understood how most people have the time to type in all that stuff while they are playing. My energy is spent concentratin on the game . A quick hello one in a while is about all I can handle. :)

I'm not going to say who but I did feel insulted by one of the other players constant trash talking in the last league game. I've never played with that player before though, so I wouldn't report them unless it became constant. I don't see the need to constantly disrespect other players.

That's why the sites have a "chat disable" button. Granted, it shouldn't be necessary, but some people are just jerks.

I do not take much to seriously of what is spoken at a poker table, but it is obvious that we must keep respect and good manners, especially with people who do not know, i think rudeness is independent of being regular player or rookie of anyway who feel harmed must report the matter to one of the moderators / administrators for the appropriate action is unacceptable in some cases this type of aggressive behavior .

I think that guru has your back on this one but there are resources on the poker tables that you can use some times you get browbeaten when your playing for me its something you can ignorer

I agree with Brann about just disabling the player chat. Its kinda hard to have someone get into your head by trash-talking when you cant see what they say

I don't agree that chat disable is a viable option. Even if you disable the chat from that specific person that just solves the problem for you. The player in question is still going to be a negative influence on the community in general.

I don't think we should take the attitude that people should live with abuse because they could just 'ignore it'.

Usually there isnt to much bad talk in the league. But i also have noticed a little increase and Its probably because there are about 50 more players in this series compared to the last one.

The same ppl are the ones who keep trash talking,we all know who they are mostly and i don't know if they do it to try and throw ppl off their game or after they take a bad beat the abuse can be bad by them and their teammates,i have always liked poker.org because of the games and the community being so friendly but i noticed alot of trash talking after alot of ppl joined last year tbh,it wasn't like that before as it was always very friendlyat the tables, trash talking by some is just rude tbh and i wouldn't even bite to any of it,i was laughing at Denttt's sick beats at weekend but it wasn't trash talking as e1 at the table where doing the same,i hate taking sick beats myself but i still wouldn't berate a player,i just tend to say it's "usual merge" or something rather than take it personally and start calling other ppl names as there's no need for that.

Obviously when you have larger numbers, the possibilities for things to happened increased. Also as a direct effect of having more members, the duration of the tournament increases, and people become more stressed.

I have seen some trash talk at the tables, and i must admit its not the welcome i was expecting. Any way the mute button comes in handy. Got about three on permanent mute at the moment. So sorry if i don't reply to the trash talk, i'm not being rude just cant be bothered with being called a newbie, and other trash. been playing this game online for 10 years now so i'm not a newbie to poker just a newbie to the site, which i don't intending leaving because i get called a newbie. Any way good luck all at the felts see you at the weekend or in a post or two
