To steal or not to steal , you came across and situation that you felt would get you an edge to better yourself just to have it blow up in your face , it's poker and it happens to the best of us , learn from it and get over it , it's poker and it will happen again and again .

There is no general rule as to when to steal and when not to steal. It all depends on the situation at the table. Player Arwen tried to steal from me with QJ vs AK. It worked out in 2 ways for them. It forced me to choose to jam or fold. I would have preferred to check in that position because I was short stacked, but with AK in BB I had to risk it. flop hit a set of jacks for them, its all she wrote for me. By the same token the move could have completely backfired on her had my hand held. Then she woulda chipped me up to 6k and some firing power.
What I am pointing out is, you don't need to be consistantly stealing because sooner or later your not gonna get a flop like that. Pick and choose your spots smartly and don't be over aggressive. A passive player will pick you apart.

Sometimes a min bet or raise can get the info you need in your hand taht ya are palying.it seems like its hard for someone who had a good hand to just call a min bet with it when there are still cards to come. most time they will reraise and that will give ya some info on if your hand is good or not. but you also need to have and idea on what range of hands he will play in what positions. but this is just bad timeing on your part. it happines to us all.good luck in life and on the felts to everyone.
