Posting to get poker points

Ive noticed that posting to get points is kinda frustrating and time consuming. I try to add some thing new to the conversation but with most posts the answer is already posted and any thing i would add would just be redundant. I dont want to be that guy that regurgitates whats already been said.
While im adding this new post, i mostly dont have enough new ideas and enough time to do so. and to be truthful the reason for this post is just to get enough points for sundays game

Is this the jerry and george blog about nothing? a blog about absolutely nothing yet earns you points so that you can be something? well i'll attempt to do nothing, say nothing, be nothing, yet be rewarded...... kinda like seinfeld

btw, kramer made that show....

I just do my best to stick my two-cents worth in when I think I might have something to contribute to a conversation. I don't start too many conversations because there are so many people more knowledgeble than me in many areas, so I just read, absorb the information and continue. You can find some good topics in beginner or texas holdem forums. Anyway, good luck and hope to see you at the tables.

Every post is worth it's weight it points , the trick is to make it seem that you have something to say or add on , not ever case can and would be done but that is the trick to get there early enough that you can . coming here 1 day a week is not the effort that they expect here , gl on achieving your points , lol .

It is reasonable that people will write things that are obvious and not helpful to the topic because of the system of the points.
and it is reasonable that you wont have much to help or say to most topics so you can look only on the topic and comment... its scks but thats the way its goes
i think that sport topics should get points too, that way there will be more to comment

You can post hands and comment on other hands that were posted as an alternative. It would not only earn points for you; it would add to the quality of the forum as a data base of knowledge in regards to playing the game of poker. I would think that you would have no shortage of hands which involved a challenging decision on your part which would allow for constructive discussion which may help to improve your game *Maximum 1 hand (2.5 points) rewarded per day, but you can comment on multiple hands that have been posted.

Use to belong to a forum many years back that required you to be active to access their weekly freerolls and I can understand that point. But as their site got a little bigger they kept changing the requirements for active members until it reached a minimum of 50 quality post.
At that particular time I had only about 18 post on the website forum, wasn’t much of a posted back then and told the admin I really didn’t think I would post a bunch of useless blogs or post just to make the minimum requirements. I continued however to play their weekly host $10 buy in games and donated cash to several of their charity drives for members who had fallen on hard times one way or another.

Then the forum admins decided to collective go thru the members list and pick and choose who they thought were active members in the forum and this list was used to decide who would have access to the forum’s hosted tournaments. Needless to say I was not added to the list because they considered someone who doesn’t post the minimum requirements ( that were always changing ) should not be allowed to play there. At that point we didn’t see eye to eye and I decide to leave there and look elsewhere to play.

Spent the last four years at that particular forum until once again the daily operations and activity of that forum just fell thru the floor which was very sad to see indeed, it was a great place to play for the first 3 years. Now I’m here on the suggestion from a few members I’ve known a long time elsewhere and I’ll try my best to keep the useful comments up to meet the standards set here. However I’m not a great poker player and do not read poker books, just an average Joe who plays sometimes and what I know or would have to share of any poker insights would fit inside of a one sentence note…..lol........

Russ can always be counted on for for a meaningful log answer to a blog. Better than the old "nh" or "gg" responses. Personally I like post posting Poll blogs to get every ones opinions about things. Might not like the answers I receive but when you ask a question you have to be ready for the answers. Elwood if you look in the whole forum, not just league, there is an abundance of topics just waiting for replies. Might wanna check it out.

Why not post up some HH's for discussion? I'm sure I could add a few comments to them that may be of interest.

You read Pokeryall's novel of irrelevance but didn't read my thread of pertinent information it seems, or did you Doofus? Lol ,in either case, good suggestion !

If we are all being honest, everybody posts for points... however the main reason behind posting relevant replies is to help/discuss a topic with the people that have already discussing it. There are such threads like the event discussion before a tournament and also the one's like for example that i have seen today 'how to get a job at the moment' or something like that. These are the kind of topics you should be replying on if you dont like to be repetitive, something where its based on your own opinion.

Elwood you have been playing for a long time and i am sure you have come up against some many different situations and have many stories to tell. Add some of your knowledge to the threads that interest u or that u can relate to and the points will just add up faster than u think, without even trying and feeling like its a job. Have fun, be yourself and happy poker!! gl

That's exactly my same problem. I'm learning the game, so I honestly don't have any reason to post random pieces of strategy or other intricacies of poker. So I have to post random useless stuff so I can get the points (which I don't mind doing.) I just don't want to aggravate anyone with my useless post.
