Not having the option/capability to deposit in NY... can you guys still get player-to-player transfers from other players? (< I'm not too familiar with how it works now).
I feel very fortunate to have been born & raised in Canada & feel bad for you guys. It for sure sucks in a huge way.

Has anybody heard of a good reason why the US is like the only country to do this?

The reason why the US does this is because they want some cut of the profits that are being made. They cannot stand all the American dollars going oversees without putting there hands on it.

The easiest way you could get money on a poker site without depositing or freerolls is p2p transfers. Some players will accept paypal or gdmp for poker funds. It's really too bad that NY stopped online poker deposits.

Think they are also trying to make sure licenses are in place. You can't even gamble unless your in Nevada or on Indian Territory. When lived in Ca, I was a minute from the border, then in OK all Indian territory, now NM all Indian Nation. So casinos everywhere. But in NY, when do you ever see a Tribe in those parts.

Greedy greedy government.and we are the land of the FREE??i am sure they will legalize it just as soon as they find a way to get their hands on some of the money.

Ditto what twinkies said. If we were the land of the free, we should be able to do what we want with our money and time. I am positive that as soon as the government figures out how they can get their greedy hands on some of the revenue, all lights will turn green for USA players. Only time will tell I suppose.

I dont understand why its so hard to just get it regulated already. You think with the government being in charge that it would eliminate any type of collusion that couldve happened before and that they would automatically take the taxes out in the rake or when you attempt to withdraw from the site.

Sure it has everything to do about security, fraud and all Americna's well being *smirks*. That was said with a true poker face! Yes, as soon as the can slice a big piece of the pie we will be rolling through the green lights.
