...............................................Players that say these kind things after losing a hand are usually that which they are accusing others of being. This holds true with your situation, as he misplayed pre flop, then continued to misplay by slow playing (check calling) with a coordinated board post flop , and grossly misplayed by over playing (all in with losing hand) at show down on the river. Perfect "fish" play and your solid play was rightfully rewarded and should not give the loser's word the time of day. It sounds like you are doing things right in your efforts to improve your poker skills , and that means you will encounter more and more "pot calling the kettle black" rants from opponent you've sent to the rail.

Both of my parents are avid poker players though and play ALOT and they are the ones I play poker with around the kitchen table.
My Dad just recently gave me a MC-GiftCard for a present to play online poker. So far I have only played a handful of tournaments and mostly just the FirstDepositor $500Freerolls on the Merge network. Oh and I have also now finished reading two poker books as it was part of the deal my Dad made with me for using the giftcard to play online poker (I read Collin Moshmann's Sit'ngo book & Harrington On Holdem Vol.1). I also watch my Mom & Dad play poker sometimes but usually only when they are doing good in a tournament and especially only when my Dad is in a good mood, ha ha ha.
Today I was playing in this Freeroll for the 3rd day in a row.
It was very early in the game when this hand came up.
I was dealt 5d4d in BUTTON position.
A guy raised in UTG position and because we were both sitting with alot of bigblinds I thought it might be a good spot to call. This guy seemed to be very aggressive and was raising preflop alot! Maybe this time he had a big hand cuz he was UTG but I thought this might be a good thing because then if I hit my hand I might stand to win a BIG pot (which I think is called 'good implied odds' spot).
So I call. And guy in BB calls too.
I flop an open-ended draw to a straight but there is also a flush draw potential on flop but other than that I think this is a pretty good flop to bet if the other guy checks.
BB checks & then UTG checks and I choose to bet about two-thirds of the pot (hoping to win it right then because they seemed weak).
BB folds and UTG calls.
Hmm I am thinking he might have JJ, TT or maybe Flush Draw but I think he would bet out with the flush draw. Then I thought he might have KK but as soon as I thought this I then thought 'well if he has set of Kings and I hit my hand I am going to win a really big pot!'
Turn - YES!!! I hit my straight!
He checks to me again so I bet almost two-thirds of the pot again and he calls. Now I am actually thinking he really has KK and has set YAY!
River he checks. I think 'oh no. he does not have KK. He must have Flushdraw or maybe 10-10 and he is going to fold. I will bet on smaller side cuz I really want a call here. I bet just under half the pot and to my surprise he re-raises me allin.
I was so shocked it took me a few seconds to hit the call button.
I called and showed him the nut straight winner. He turned over 66 for a flopped set.
Then he makes a bunch of comments in the chat saying I'm a fish and then says 'FISH' 'FISH you call me with 54 you FISH' a bunch more times. but I thought I played it good??
Do you think this is a fish play or did I play it good?
