Hey all,

I was wondering if we could get a discussion around this topic. I find that when I play mid to long sessions online I tend to tune out and go into "auto-pilot" mode . Besides playing shorter sessions , I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions on how to combat this fatigue where you basically tune out and play like a robot and forget to think while playing. It tends to be my number one problem and I find I am playing lot's of shorter sessions but with less satisfaction playing the game .

Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

I was playing in my team game last night @ Luvin Poker,& there are 9 teams this session. The format is 10 minute blinds,& 5 mins before the 2nd break(so 1 hour & 55 minutes in),there was still 7 people left in the game. This league costs $100 per team,so even in an extremely tight game such as last night, theres a monetary incentive to stay on your toes, but beyond that(the $$$),i just dont wanna let my team down!!!

Heres a suggestion. The next time you're in a tournament, tape the equivalent of the 1st place cash across the top of your monitor in assorted bills.

Good Luck eh

I wish i could help. i find when i go into the auto pilot mode is when i do my best. when im tired i try to eat up the remaining field or bust to go eat or go to bed...take a minute to get up and walk or something. a friend of mine uses that energy drink crap and claims it works but i stay away from that .

I play many games I don't really care about. And in those games, the results show that I don't really care about them. Other games that are important to me, I am fully engaged in the game, and I play my best.

I think you have to do some real mental preparation when you sit down to play. Try to tune out distractions, turn off the facebook and the television and focus.

To me, it's all about how bad I want it

You dont say what time of the day or night you begin this tourny or others but what I find is dont play when its late and near your normal sleep time, I pick tournys that start early evening if I play in a large field multi, that way tiredness dont kick in unless it is an extremely long game, then my solution is at break get a quick shower and tea and return refreshed to play again

Make my game program so that no child is tired or I sleep. And also advise you to enroll in a tournament that does not last very long hours and shall not be in time for sleep. And I when I started playing poker, exaggerate, play very late at night, in the morning I went to work, I noticed that I had the same power of concentration and poor efficiency conclusion. I prefer to play less but quality. When I smile rested and luck. My advice: make a game program according to the remaining activities

Lol I find I do that when I am drving long distances, all of a sudden I am there and dam I know I was awake, but in poker, sometimes you do get that way its so automatic but I do better when I am really focused and I really dont know how to tell you to do that except watch the peeps on your table see how they play, whether there bluffing or for real, sometimes when I feel someone is bluffing me I get in my killer mode revenge so to speak, it depends on the day, how your feeling, I guess pick something that is bugging you to focus on or holds your interest, now for some they like to play several games at the same time or another just to make them not play hands they shouldnt, everyone is different I guess, find your niche!

For me I play horrible when I go into auto pilot. I'm not really thinking why did they do this or that. Auto pilot I tend to make bad calls, bad bluffs, etc.

One thing that should help you is to focus on reading your opponents...if you are paying attention to how the other players play, you shouldn't have this issue...it should help your play also...in fact, you should be doing this anyway.
