Do you really think this time next year US players will have an online room to play in?

I personally think we are seeing the end of online poker in the US right now. The government seems poised to do absolutely nothing regarding the UIGEA and appear to be letting things stand as they are until after this years elections. If Obama doesn't win, Oboy.

Obama is likely the only president we stand a chance against. The rest of em appear to be holy roller do gooders hell bent of making us a nation of oppressive and freedom less laws. I havent really got any good look at rick santorum yet, but he seems to be the best bet we have if obama kicks it.

Well they have put it off till 2013 but they have said that would like individual states to take up the matter.. contact your state rep and get the ball rolling.. lord knows they are doing it in Vegas.

Obama can help US pass the bill he should have campaign for legalising poker!! As many of u already know he is a diehard poker fan its interesting to know that even the President of the USA loves to play poker like many of us and its equally important in his life to enjoy a bit of poker besides governing the country checkout this article

First of all, Rick Santorum is the most likely to try to ban online poker. I can't believe you don't know anything about that dude. He's a hardcore religious type.

I sure as hell hope it is regulated and legitimized. Of course we have an online poker room to play on right now (Carbon Poker / Merge comes to mind - where we're playing this very Winter series!). But the problem is a lot of donkeys/fish have completely left the online poker world. Last week I was playing some $3 double ups on Merge; including myself there were SIX PROS playing. You can't beat the rake with that kind of competition. Now I'm playing a game of figuring out when the pros play and trying to avoid those time slots!

Most regular people are just going to hear all the latest news and figure online poker is totally illegal now, which it obviously isn't, but unfortunately it doesn't matter; perception is what matters!

I hope so, a smart president can use online poker as revenue for this govt.. and it should be my choice to play poker not the govt anyway.
