All politicians are liars , this is the first think they learn when they start this career .

It sure doesn't seem to miss any opportunity to turn issues that require serious debate into votes this December.

The top 5% pay hardly any taxes actually. They write things off and have lawyers that help them get around paying most of that 60%. I think they should just have stricter limitations on tax exemptions and that should be more needs based rather than you can write off anything.

I'm afraid that this wondreful country has long since gone past recovery. I do hope I'm wrong, not so much for me (I'm 66 years old) but for all the younger people. You can stop a snowball rolling downhill if it's small, but when it's as large as it is now, it just runs over anything or anybody in it's way. The blame shouldn't be on Obama or Bush,, This didn't just happen in the last four years or in the previous eight years. This snowball has been growing for decades. Don't single out just the rich,,but also the small employer who hires illegals and pays them under the table, these payouts keep the employer from having to match Social Security Taxes on these wages. No income tax paid by the illegal. Or the employer can write it off his income by paying it as a payment to a sub-contractor.Just write the check to someone with a Social Security Card, real or a false card. I live on $985 dollars a month from S.S. and I'm disabled so I can't work for more income. But I get by. God save this country, cause I don't think we can.

Where do you get your information? what I remember is while I was in IRAQ making 38,000 to risk my life and by the way no one in the top 5% were there with me the top %5 were lining their pokets the so called bush tax cuts were really laws put into place after the depresion so the rich could not do whatever they wanted and get away with it if the chineese hadnt said no to the russians when they wanted to dump all of our debt on the market it would have ruined our econemy

I agree with the fact that the rich pay most of the taxes... I have no problem with the rich paying a little more than their fair share of the taxes because they can and it wont affect them but its absolutely ridiculous when people sit on their ass and get welfare without working. Most of the people in the top 5% got there because they have worked hard and they deserve to be there

Haha very well said. I've found myself during the last couple of elections not rooting for a candidate because they are good, you are rooting for a candidate so they don't screw the county over. It comes down to whoever isn't the worst i guess.
