The Amateur Poker Association & Tour has announced the purchase of Poker.co.uk, a poker room on the International Poker Network. The room will serve to run satellites into the APAT's live events.
The Amateur Poker Association & Tour, a British organization that hosts live
poker tournaments around Europe, has announced the takeover of Poker.co.uk.
Poker.co.uk is an
online poker room, hosted by the
International Poker Network, and will serve to help the organization's reach and online presence.
The room will host satellites into APAT live events and host two new Online Championship series, called the National Online League and the National Online Cup.
The takeover of Poker.co.uk includes database,
online poker software and customer support contracts for the room, which will be rebranded to APAT in the near future.

online poker room to our product range and look forward to delivering a high quality online poker experience for our customers, as we have in the casino environment since 2006," said Des Duffy, managing director of APAT, according to Pokernews.
Matt Dale, founder of Poker.co.uk added that "With a membership of over 50,000 players and a reputation for being very community focused, APAT is well positioned to bring something new to the online poker market and I'm delighted to play a part."
