An anonymous high stakes PLO player has been running wild on PokerStars last night and this morning. The unknown player among other things won close to $500,000 from "Fake Love888", who many believe to be Patrik Antonius.
The high stakes PLO games on
PokerStars last night and this morning witnessed a remarkable run from "1Il|1Il|1il|", an anonymous player who first appeared online in October this year.
"1Il|1Il|1il|" has been keeping mostly quiet for the past few months, having won and lost a few large battles in the games, which regularly count railbird favorites like
Ilari Sahamies and
Viktor Blom.
This would all end last night, as "1Il|1Il|1il|" went on a regular tear, taking on some of PokerStars' best regulars in what would turn out to be an epic session.
Most of the action was centered around a lengthy PLO $200/$400 heads-up battle against "Fake Love88", running for almost four hours on two tables in the early hours of the day.
According to numbers from
Highstakesdb.com, "1Il|1Il|1il|" went from losing almost $200,000 to turning the stakes around until he was back in control.
From then on and onwards, "Fake Love888" was left with little chance of recovery, and eventually "1Il|1Il|1il|" could log off around 7am this morning with a profit of around $500,000.
The unknown gambler also took home an additional $100,000 from a range of lower limit games, allowing him to his night with a total profit of $601,793.
The run sends "1Il|1Il|1il|" into a yearly profit of $550,362, won over 872 sessions since his first appearance on October 17.
The mystery gambler's appearance and willingness to play in the highest limit games available has spurred speculations as to who is really behind the curios moniker, but so far no one has stepped forward to reveal themselves to the public.
Many believe that last night's opponent "Fake Love888" is actually
Patrik Antonius, and that "1Il|1Il|1il|" must therefore be a player who is willing to face the feared Finn in a heads-up
high stakes game.
This narrows the field of candidates down to just a handful of players, the speculations go, including regulars such as
Daniel Cates,
Tom Dwan,
Scott Palmer,
Cole South and
Phil Ivey.
However, no one has been able to confirm or deny that any of these players are indeed behind the mystery account.
