Aussie Millions down to 12, Phil Ivey is the short stack
With Day 4 in the books of the Aussie Millions, just 12 players now remain in the run for the AUD$1.6 million first prize. Yann Dion is the chip leader with 2.67 million chips, while Phil Ivey is the short stack with a little less than 700,000.
The Aussie Millions Main Event has concluded its Day 4, leaving the tournament with just 12 live players.

Yann Dion managed to navigate his way through the day to take over the chip lead, and will now enter the event's last day of play tomorrow with a healthy 2.67 million stack.

Dion, who has cashed for $85,000 throughout his career before making his deep Aussie Millions run, will be trailed closely by Bjorn Li, who has 2.47 million.

Third is Mohamad Kowssarie with 2.23 million, followed by Karim Johnson with a little more than 2 million and WSOP bracelet holder Daniel Idema with 1.84 million.

Lee Nelson is sixth with 1.65 million, trailed by Patrik Healy, Janis Lesinskis and Kennth Wong, all with around 1.5 million.

Below the million chip count, Oliver Speidel is in tenth place with 809,000, followed by Mile Krstanoski with 755,000, and finally, the biggest name of them all, Phil Ivey, who will be the short stack with just 699,000.

With blinds of 10,000/20,000, Ivey will as such have a long way to go if he is to secure himself a top result, although he is likely to be a favorite in the eyes of the many fans following the action around the globe.

Should the former Team Full Tilt pro make it through tomorrow and end up taking over the Aussie Millions title from last year's winner David Gorr, the $1.6 million first prize would at the same time be his biggest cash to date.

Up until now, Ivey's single biggest score came in 2009, when he finished the WSOP Main Event in seventh place for a $1,404,014 cash prize.

A winner is expected to be found late tomorrow night or in the early hours of Sunday morning, CET.

He still has 34BBs so I think hes capable of still making the FT in this thing and/or taking it down. The set over set he had near the end of the previous day took a good portion from him

No! I will say this though: There are only a handful of people that I can think of on the top of my head that are able to come back like this and Phil Ivey is definitely one of them.

I still think Phil Ivey has a solid chance to take down the prize. You never know, a miracle might happen has he could be 1st, after all, he is a very solid player. Just need a little luck.

I would also believe in that he still got a chance of getting in Final Table even thought he now sitting shortstacks.

Phil hasn't played in any big tournaments in a while. It would be nice if he made it to the final table. His stack-size is no big deal. Great players are able to overcome short-stacks. He should be alright.
