The 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event is down to just 26 players after Day 3 at the Crown Casino in Melbourne. Phil Ivey continues to be in good shape, and will head into Day 4 in sixth place.
The 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event has finished its Day 3 and is now down to just 26 players, who have all earned themselves a spot in the money.
Day 3 saw the field being cut down from 75 survivors to the current 26, with the money bursting at 72 live players.
The remaining field continues to count a handful of talented players, but no one will be followed as intensely as
Phil Ivey, who made it through to Day 4 in superior style.
Ivey bagged up a total of 1,107,000 chips at the end of the day, good enough for sixth place before the action resumes again late tonight.
He will be trailing chip leader Matt Turk, who won a massive flip holding pocket tens against Jason Koon's ace-king on the very final hand of the day.
Koon flopped a king, but as Turk also hit one of two tens in the deck to make his set, the 2.6 million monster pot went to the latter, who is now holding a commanding chip lead.
Second place is held by Tim O'Shea with 1,376,000 chips, followed by Patrick Healy in third with 1,353,000.
With just 26 players left, all runners are now secured a minimum payout of AUD$35,000, while the first prize is AUD$1.6 million.
The winner is expected to be found on Saturday once the eight-player final table gets underway.
There will however be added action before that, as the much anticipated $250,000 Challenge begins already tomorrow Friday at 2pm, local time.
