Controversial reporter maintains Full Tilt-PokerStars claims
Wendeen Eolis of the Poker Player Newspaper has been the centerpiece in recent speculations about an imminent announcement of a Full Tilt Poker-PokerStars deal. Despite criticism, Eolis maintains that the deal is all but done.
With the help of Wendeen Eolis, we have flagged this article, as several paragraphs contained errors.

Controversy has broken out around the Poker Player Newspaper's reporter Wendeen Eolis after she published a story this weekend stating that she had "rock solid" sources telling her that a final deal between PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker had been reached.

Eolis cited her unnamed sources for telling her that the deal was ready for announcement, and that a statement would likely be made from either room already on Monday.

The report immediately caught the attention of the online poker community, and the disappointment was therefore considerable when no such announcement was made yesterday.

The miss spurred a storm of critical voices with many skeptics accusing Eolis for having jumped the gun with her predictions for the deal. In a new piece today, however, Eolis defends her claim, saying that all that is left for the deal to be done is an approving signature from a presiding judge.

"While my source was unequivocal in referencing a signed deal between the parties, the Deep Throat connection noted that the deal had yet to receive a final blessing - a signed order by the judge, approving the settlement," Eolis wrote.

She further claims that she continues to believe in the information first provided by her source, and that a done deal will be announced within days.

"Today PPN goes to press without any announcement by the parties and with no evidence yet of a signed order by the judge," Eolis writes.

"Neither is there one scintilla of evidence in my possession from anywhere of a torpedoed deal. To the contrary, there appears to be mounting pressure for all concerned to bring the matter to a swift close."

"With this latest information in mind from previously rock solid sources, I’ll go out on a limb once more not only to stand behind our original bulletin, but also to predict we are talking about a matter of days before uncorking the champagne in celebration of a sealed deal," she ends.

I hate to be the one to say it, but when I saw the initial report, it just seemed too good to be true and stated so in a post yesterday, what's that old saying? Really sad that such frivolous reporting can be posted without consequences, especially when so many players are anxious to retrieve funds that are in limbo on the FullTilt poker site.

There seems to be no end in site to the devastation caused by Black Friday from April 2011. Having less than a grand stuck online in this screwed up mess, I can only imagine how players with serious bankrolls have felt over the past 18 months. Players with hundred’s of thousands of dollars and those with a million plus stuck in online poker rooms have got to be just fraking sick…

I'm not celebrating anything until everything is in ink and announced as being true. We have heard way too many rumors over the last couple months that all fell though. Hopefully this does get done soon but we will see.

I just hope that if it does happen the players get most or all of there money back but i have read that like usual the government will take there cut first. We all know what that means they will probably take at least half of everyone's money. That's what it all boils down to anyway right the government wants there share of the wealth.

US players will get their money from the DOJ but they can't play online at Stars or FT until they(Government) pass legislation and change law to allow it i think,i think that's the problem,i don't know the full extent as i'm a Europe based player.
