UK bookmaker Matchbook.com has unveiled its new team of sponsored pros for the 2012 WSOP. Among the new names are Sam Trickett and Daniel "jungleman12" Cates.
English online sportsbook Matchbook.com has unveiled its roster of sponsored players for the 2012 World Series of Poker.
The team, consisting of 10 players altogether, will be donning Matchbook patches throughout the WSOP, including the $1 million BIG ONE For ONE DROP record event.
Headlining the team is 2011 European Player of The Year and Partouche Poker Tour winner, Sam Trickett.
Trickett recently left a sponsorship deal with
Titan Poker, and has since been playing as a free agent. During the WSOP, however, he will once again be ready to represent a sponsor after coming to terms with Matchbook.com.
"It was an easy choice partnering with Matchbook for the WSOP," said Trickett according to
Pokernews.com.
"Not only are all the players extremely talented but the majority of the team are also very good friends. It's a unique environment to have as a
poker team but provides us all with added support. I'm sure we are all going to have a fun and profitable summer together," he added.
Also on the team will be
high stakes cash game star Daniel "
jungleman12" Cates, who will be entering the first sponsorship of his short career.
Cates has still to earn his first big tournament result, but has amassed winnings of more than $7 million in cash game profits over the past years. Today he is widely regarded as one of the best young players in the game.
Besides Cates and Trickett, the 2012 WSOP Matchbook team will consist of JP Kelly, Matt Perrins, Roberto Romanello, James Akenhead, Martins Adeniya, Jarred Solomon and John Hewitt.
