Daniel "jungleman12" Cates has promised to reward one lucky fan with a $10,000 buy-in for the 2011 WSOP Main Event. The buy-in will be given to a first-time player via a raffle.
Daniel "
jungleman12" Cates has launched a competition on his personal blog, in which he promises to send one lucky winner to the 2011 WSOP Main Event.
In order to participate in the competition, entrants will have to be 21 years of age, as well as only first-time players in the WSOP will be eligible to win.
Besides that, the competition is open to everyone.
"I had a great idea to show all of the poker fans around the world how much I appreciate them. I decided to give away a $10,000 WSOP buy-in to the main event to any
poker player who's never played a main event before," Cates writes on
junglemandan.com.
"Lately with all the stuff that has been going on, it's made me think about back when I was playing low stakes in college and made me grateful for all the success I've had. It's made me want to give something back to the average poker player who is where I used to be, and stir some excitement as well," he adds.
The posting is followed by
a YouTube video, which explains the rules for the competition, and here Cates reveals that he will be holding a raffle where one lucky WSOP debutant will be awarded the buy-in as the main prize.
Tickets for the raffle will be handed out by "jungleman12" personally over the course of next week, on locations in Las Vegas which will be revealed via his
Twitter account.
In order to obtain a ticket for the giveaway, entrants will therefore need to keep an eye on the
@junglemandan Twitter account, then meet up with Cates on the instructed location, collect the ticket and hope to be picked in the raffle.
As a special bonus, the winner will also receive individual coaching from the online star ahead of the main event.
The draw itself will be held on June 25th, a few days before the 2011 World Series of Poker kicks off in Las Vegas, Nevada.
