An English poker player has beaten Phil Laak's world record for the longest continuous poker session. Barry Denson, a former soldier in the UK, played nonstop for 120 hours and 20 minutes to support a charitable cause.
A number of big names were among the casualties as Day 1C of the World Series of Poker's $10,000 Main Event came to a conclusion this morning. Andrew Robl, Annette Obrestad and Jonathan Duhamel were all among those who won't return.
The 2012 World Series of Poker has closed its registration process at 6,598 players, making the event the fifth largest in history. The combined prize pool of $62,021,200 will mean that one winner will walk away with $8.5 million.
Full Tilt Poker CEO and co-founder Ray Bitar was released on bail on Monday morning. The bail will see Bitar post $2.5 million in assurances, as he returns to his California home to await trial.
