David "Viffer" Peat has been following the developments around "Isildur1" closely. Ready to face the anonymous online sensation, Peat has challenged "Isildur1" to a live heads-up challenge.
One of the most noteworthy effects of "
Isildur1"'s recent signing with
PokerStars is the arrival of the SuperStar Showdown challenges in which the Swedish mystery pro have so far faced both Isaac Haxton and Tony G.
Played over 2,500 hands on four tables, the format of the challenge is perfect for high-profile online encounters, but now David "Viffer" Peat is suggesting to bring the challenge to the real-life tables.
Writing in
a thread on TwoPlusTwo.com, "Viffer" this morning sent out an open invitation to "Isildur1", suggesting that the two sit down for a live heads-up challenge at the upcoming PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in Bahamas.
The 2011 version of the PCA is set to start on Thursday, and it has been hinted by PokerStars that the site might use this occasion to finally reveal "Isildur1"'s real identity.
Although these rumors have not yet been finally confirmed, "Viffer" is ready to face the Swede if he decides to show up.
"I'd like to take the challenge at the PCA." Peat writes.
"We can play 1 table $150K deep, unlimited rebuys, can't quit unless $150K loser or after 2,500 hands. I am open for other offers, or if not interested, I understand" the invitation ends.
"Isildur1" has since his signing with PokerStars already played two of the SuperStar Showdown challenges, however, with mixed results.
In the first challenge, PokerStars' newest poster child lost $41,000 to Isaac Haxton and this was followed up by a second round the day before yesterday, when he won $44,000 from Tony G.
A third online challenge is
according to the PokerStars Blog already being planned, but the opponent has yet to be announced.
