Doyle Brunson has published a new blog, writing about his recent experiences at the 2012 WSOP. The legendary "Texas Dolly" among other things uses his post to praise Phil Hellmuth and Vanessa Selbst.
Doyle Brunson is back with another blog post, writing about his recent experiences at the 2012 World Series of Poker.
Brunson was less active during this year's WSOP as he was busy playing cash games "10-14 hours a day", but still the Hall of Famer found time to make some observations about his fellow pros, and most notably
Phil Hellmuth and Vanessa Selbst.
"I didn't follow the events closely because I was playing most of the time. I did notice that Phil Hellmuth had a good series and won his 12th bracelet. It was a non-hold-em event and perhaps he will now get the respect he deserves," Brunson writes.
"Nobody plays harder or plays more events than Phil and it is evident he is becoming an all-round player."
Brunson also delivers some words of praise to Vanessa Selbst, who had a somewhat anonymous WSOP.
Still, Brunson writes, Selbst is to be regarded as one of the world's top players, male or female.
"Another thing is quite clear. Vanessa Selbst is not only the best female player in the world, she is one of the top
poker players, male or female. I've always been a bottom line guy, and you can't deny the results Vanessa has had the past few years. She is a stand out favorite to be the first female poker player to win the Main Event in a future WSOP," Brunson writes.
