Epic Poker League inks TV deal with CBS and Velocity
Just one month ahead of its official launch, the Epic Poker League has announced a TV deal with CBS and Discovery Comminucations' Velocity Network. The deal includes 20 hours of air time for the league.
Just one month before the inaugural Epic Poker League event kicks off in Las Vegas, Federated Sports + Gaming has announced a new TV deal with CBS and Discovery Communications' Velocity Network.

The deal will see 13 hours of original Epic Poker League programming air on the Velocity Network, with an additional seven hours of re-aired episodes that will air on CBS Sports.

"Epic Poker is proud to partner with CBS Television and Discovery Communications in our inaugural season," said Jeffrey Pollack, executive chairman of the Epic Poker League and its parent company, Federated Sports + Gaming in a press release.

"Both companies share our commitment to providing a world-class stage and significant new exposure for poker's most talented live tournament players," he added.

His sentiments are shared by CBS Sports executive vice president of programming, Rob Correa, who looks forward to the new partnership.

"We are pleased to welcome Epic Poker to CBS. We look forward to the league's inaugural season," Correa said.

The Epic Poker League further reveals that the shows will be hosted by Pat O'Brien and Ali Nejad, while 441 Productions will be in charge of the creation of the episodes.

Air dates and times have not yet been released, but the shows are likely to hit American TV screens already this fall.
