Ilari Sahamies has hit a new major heater and is slowly closing in on a break-even result for the year. The Finnish PLO high roller won $324,000 yesterday and is now up $500,000 for the past 48 hours.
Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies has been close to unstoppable in the expensive PLO games on
PokerStars this week, as he hit what seems to be yet another big heater.
Sahamies started out his year in usual swingy style, and lost more than $1 million during the first two months of 2012, only to win it all back during March.
In April, he once again started losing until he was left in a $700,000 hole after the first two weeks of the month, but then things turned around once again for the star two days ago.
On Monday, Sahamies won close to $180,000 playing as "Ilari FIN" in the $50/$100 and $100/$200 games on PokerStars, and yesterday he followed up the win with another big session, this time for a $324,000 profit.
All in all, Sahamies is now in the red by some $300,000, but judging from his action in the nosebleed games, this result is very likely to change rather quickly, for better or worse.
Meanwhile, other regulars like Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky and Viktor "Isildur1" have both had bad starts to the week, dropping around $200,000 each, according to
Highstakesdb.com.
The two biggest losers since Sunday, however, are Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen and Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond, who have both lost more than $225,000 over the past 48 hours.
Kyllönen still remains the biggest overall winner of the year with profits of more than $1.2 million, while the anonymous "Zypherin" is the biggest loser of 2012 with losses of almost an even $1 million.
