Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies finished 2011 as the biggest winner of all on PokerStars. The Finnish high roller, however, is looking beyond the world's biggest poker site and says he is ready to find action wherever it is.
Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies finished 2011 with profits worth millions of dollars, playing predominantly in PokerStars' high stakes PLO games under his "Ilari FIN" moniker.
Having turned around a nightmare year, the Finnish PowerPoker pro is seemingly back in form, and he now reveals that he is likely to take his action wherever people the biggest games are running, including outside of the
PokerStars domain.
More precisely, Sahamies plans to join the
high stakes games on the
Entraction Network, which has hosted some of the biggest alternatives to the PokerStars games in recent months.
"I have noticed the recent action on Entraction, so you will soon see me there," Sahamies told
Pokernyhederne.com.
Sahamies was interviewed from Thailand, where he is on holiday with his girlfriend. As soon as he returns to Europe, he plans to take a shot on the
network, which hosts
24hPoker among others.
"I will probably begin playing there in about a months time, once I am back from Thailand," he said.
"Ziigmund" further revealed that he won close to $2 million on PokerStars in 2011, but that he also lost close to $700,000 on Full Tilt Poker before that.
That leaves the Finn with a yearly profit of $1.3 million, which he classifies as "alright, but with room for improvement."
So far, the improvement has still to wait a bit, as "Ziigmund" has started out 2012 with a $120,000 loss.
The loss was inflicted yesterday by eternal rival Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, who is now up $107,000 for the year.
The only player to have won more than that so far is "mTw-DaviN", who is up almost $125,000 since January first.
